Wait, I can't resist some more '70s-related mania: I recently wrote that the original cowboy from the VILLAGE PEOPLE, openly gay RANDY JONES, had agreed to perform at the Bush inaugural festivities, and some people were angrier than I was when disco died. Well, here's Randy's post-show reply: "I was able to stand in front of more than 1,000 Republicans, speak of my husband of almost 21 years, WILL GREGA, and still have them waving their arms and forming the letters of YMCA just like little kids. It really was quite a surprising show of . . . well, I don't think tolerance is the right word and neither is acceptance. . . . It was like, 'Well, OK, that's the way it is, and we love the song and whatever comes with it.' It was exactly like any Village People audienceyoung folks, old folks, blacks, whites, and lots of Dorothy's friends. I was very impressed that I didn't run into one iota of rudeness, intolerance, or anything to make me feel bad. Of course I still will not be a Republican." Oh, goodthey have enough of Dorothy's friends.
In the grand scheme of things, what does it all mean when the gay cop from the Village People feels mothing but warmth singing YMCA to 1,000 Republicans?
It means absolutely nothing, but the whole image cracked me up. (picture a bopping Cheney raising his curved arms and tilting over to make the C
)
They formed a red 'X'??
The village people have always sickened me and any assclown who does the dance is even more stupid than the costumes those sick fags wore.
It means that the Republican takes you for who you are, not because it is part of an agenda. To the Democrats, agenda is everything.
That's weird. If you copy and paste the url you can see the picture that way, but it wouldn't let me paste it here either.
WHAT!??!! The cop from the Village People is GAY!!!!!???!! How about a "spoiler alert" before you drop a bomb like that?
Jones was the cowboy, not the cop. And my understanding was that the cop was the only member of the Village People that wasn't gay.
Shame it didn't show up here. Tony Orlando looks like he's spent the last twenty years living under a rock on a steady diet of 3 Musketeers bars and Pepsi.
It means he got paid to perform that horrid song. Whoever invited him and Tony Orlando needs to be introduced to the 21st century.
Well, I've been to about a hundred weddings and always cracked up whenever the whole crowd, toddlers to granddads, took to the floor for the inevitable playing of "YMCA".
Does nobody listen to lyrics? LOL
Is this the same song that Sec. of State Powell was dancing to a while back?
Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get invited to all those FAB parties in SF.....
(For sure)
Nothing is funnier than the Robin Hood and the Men In Tights on Shrek singing YMCA.
The 70's just put out an Amber Alert for their missing Disco.
Jones was the cowboy, not the cop.
Are you telling me that Michael Musto (the gayest man on planet Earth) doesnt know one Village Person from the next?!
BTW, why do you? I'm just asking.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I could think of little that would be more intriguing than just spending a day, looking over your shoulder, seeing what you look at on the net all day long.

What broke me up, long ago, was the Village People guy (the Inidan?) who denied being gay, and couldn't see how the Village People got a reputation for being gay. When other band members chimed in saying, "yup, we were gay," he simply repiled, "well, nobody told me!"
The Onion then parodied it with a story of a heavy metal rocker who was in a Christian rock band and didn't know it. He thought all the crucifixion stuff and the altar and claiming to be drinking blood when they drank wine was really cool, but couldn't figure out why the groupies acted all wierded out when he tried to take them.
To put idiots on stage to laugh at, is called entertainment.
Ops4 God Bless America!
intriguing or scary?
I have more respect for people who still do the macarena than sick phreaks doing the song about willfully getting a$$raped at a hostel.
