"You are forgetting something. The generational change. The civil-rights generation is not young anymore. I'll bet a lot of younger blacks see the kooks and wackos in the democratic party just like anyone else.
They just need to vote. Most dont."
I am not forgetting this fact. Its the liberal whites in power who continue to force the black organizations and prominent blacks in public to support the liberals and democrats. Blacks, to date, have not shown (based on voting percentage) any change in their voting, in fact some statisticians are claiming that they are voting more solidly for liberals than previous. I see nothing which indicates blacks becoming more open minded and less dependent on liberals, but that does not mean that I would not like to see that change. Such change must come from within the black community - they have to value honest education (not whats fed to them from the govt. schools) and expect their children to succeed in education, hip-hop culture should be despised, more emphasis on a father in the home, less dependence on receiving handouts or promotions based solely on race, etc.... As Cosby is saying blacks need to quit blaming others and start to put the blame on themselves. Good advice for all liberals.

There is one other thing to think of. It's the new media/information revolution. It will eventually plume into historically ethnic areas with alternate ideas. Then again, older folks are going to avail themselves less to it than younger, mobile folks.
Remember, most of Bush and the GOP elections last year were under the radar of the legacy media and this tactic was very successful.
