Interesting article that makes an excellent point. The hospice Terri is in, is for the terminally ill NOT the chronically ill. Terri is in the wrong place and the treatment she would need, rehabilitation and the like, is not available in that facility even if Michael would allow her to receive it.

The Office of Inspector General published the following document regarding hospice compliance.

The Office of Attorney General investigations "revealed that certain hospices have falsified patient medical records (as in Terri's case when Dr. Gambone certified Terri in 2000 as having less than 6 months to live) and plans of care to exaggerate the negative aspects regarding a hospice patient's condition to justify reimbursement (from Medicade)."

Terri is not terminally ill so she's being held in Hospice illegally. Hospice is receiving funds from Medicade (illegally).

Terri's family has requested the Attorney General to investigate why Terri is being illegally held in hospice, but the AG refused to open an investigation.
