I concur, fv. I am Catholic and I think a weeping statue is a very, very BAD idea that will do untold damage to this fight, which includes countless people of GOODWILL, many of whom are not Catholic and NOT even religious.
It will scare off many POTENTIAL Terri supporters, some of whom we are still trying to persuade. The kinds of people who would like the statue, are people who are already on Terri's side.
I BEG of you, don't DO this!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you TA. You said that very well. Probably much better than I did. What you said is my EXACT concern.

A statue of the Blessed Mother has always been present at the prayer vigils and it has never offended anyone, including people of other Christian denominations. Terri's family and many supporters are Catholic. I'll be present at the prayer vigil this evening along with Terri's friend, Monsignor Thaddeus Malanowski, and other supporters.
Please continue your prayers for Terri. Please don't make this a big issue. Prayer are what's needed right now.
