Thank you for your e-mail expressing your views on Terri Shiavo; your correspondence will be presented to Senator Lee today. Understandably, we are receiving a large volume of letters, phone calls, and e-mails expressing strong opinions on this very important matter. While Senator Lee cannot personally respond to each letter, he would like to provide you with the latest information on the status of the case.
Senator Lee voted in favor of the legislation passed in HB 2003 commonly known as “Terri’s Law.” In 2004, the legislative action was found to be unconstitutional. Appeals on the case have been denied. The Florida Legislature is currently reviewing the court decision and investigating any and all options for potential legislative action.
