An ally gave me this idea. What do you all think of it?
Here's an "IDEA to Save Terri Schiavo
Get Gov. Bush and the Florida Legislature to QUICKLY pass or amend laws that Define Artifical Life Support. Specifically exclude the provision of basic nutrition and hydration support. This is different than what Gov. Bush tried to do before, and it should have no problem with constitutionality.
I have no idea why this should not work. It should rip the case right out of the Judge's hands. As we all know, a Veteranarian would be prosecuted under cruelty statutes, if he/she destroyed a sick dog by using nutrition/hydration deprivation.
I have sent this to Gov. Bush and the FL legislators, but I doubt seriously that any of my email communications will get through in time. If anyone has the means to get them talking about this, then please do whatever you can to make that happen. If this has already been discussed, or previously shot down, then I would certainly like to know about it."
Anything along those lines is great. They can repeal the law they passed, they can pass the new bill in committee, they can definitely save Terri if they want to.
We need to keep them from leaving before passing a new bill.
