Hey I'm just glad to hear Rush even say the words illegal immigrant.
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the bots squirm as Rush holds the stinky immigration diaper in their faces.
Bite wind, chucklehead.
The mayor of the town of Douglas doesn't like us; I consider that a complement. You would, too, if you had read the other material on his "family connections".
You evidently misread or only partially read Sheriff Larry Dever's remarks. At a guess you just went with the partial soundbite on Scarborough's show.
The new head of the Tucson sector of CBP really doesn't like us because he knows we're going to make him look stupid. I personally plan to yank his chain with a vengeance. The working agents who do their job have no problem with us.
As for the vote numbers, the towns of Douglas and Naco profit from smuggling and Bisbee is Haight-Ashbury East. A lot of people here held their noses and voted for Shrubya just because Ketchup Boy was a worse choice. A lot of others, like me, left the north end of their ballots unmarked.
I did not vote for Bush, McCain, or Kolbe. All three were openly on record as being against my best interests.
The Texas border region is getting billions of dollars of federal money --- but you don't want California to have any? The border counties of Texas would collapse if it wasn't for all the federal grants and bailouts to the schools, clinics, hospitals etc. Imagine what would happen to Texas if Medicaid and federal grants for indigent care were even just cut in half. 80% of the public school children in a big city like Houston are on the free breakfast and lunch program --- and that's not right on the border.
Sometimes when your nextdoor neighbors let their house go to pot ---their toilets are plugged up and overflowing, there is filth and garbage everwhere, they have no food in their pantry --- they would like to just move into your house. The best thing you can do is offer some tough love, send them home --- and they might even get to work on improving their place once they realize they have to live in it.
I noticed as well. :-)
When they took over California, I did not speak up because I was not in California;
When they took over Texas, I did not speak up because I was not in Texas...
I will be there April 1 !
Yep. But I doubt that that character would worry if Texas was taken over.
I don't mind legal immigration at all. But legal immigration begins with application and qualification in the originating country, followed by controlled entry and regular monitoring of location and status here in the United States for those accepted. This is the essence of border security.
I am opposed to any blanket legalization which merely legitimizes the status quo -- an uncontrolled flood of unknown and unknowable aliens who came here illegally. Such schemes would provide only the appearance of immigration reform but no improvement in border security. And if human nature is a reliable indicator, any such capitulation to lawlessness would only embolden new waves of illegals emulating what worked before.
To any foreign national wanting to work here: Apply at any United States Embassy or Consulate. Maybe you can be one of us. Maybe not.
So then you support President Bush's guest worker program. Good.
That's right. Why pour money into a state that's about ready to fall into the ocean?
Call America back when y'all've busted all your employers of illegal immigrants and we'll see if there's any money left we can loan you.
We're on for dinner, then. Even if you choose the most expensive reataurant here. Just watch for an insane fool who looks like Theoden of Rohan.
Filet mignon wrapped in enough bacon to send a Muslim straight to Hell? Taters and pintos done over a smoky mesquite fire? Fresh home-made bread? Live Western music that won the Roy Rogers seal of approval?
Welcome to Fantasy Island, love -- and the reason I fight on.
So far, our President is not on board with real border security; indeed, most of his energy on this issue seems to have been directed at silencing Tom Tancredo and other GOP border hawks. If the next successful terrorist cell turns out to have waltzed across our unguarded borders with a wink, there will be political hell to pay. Hillary is shrewdly positioning herself on this issue, and others are sure to follow. It would be a shame for President Bush to cede a slam dunk national security issue to the Democrats for 2008.
Well, enjoy the experience. :-)
Ahh, f*** me to tears. Our resident BP chopper just missed my roof again heading south. I'm outta here -- and lovin' every minute of it!
Where in hell is Doug from Upland when you need background music?
Which no nation has ever accomplished and will never be possible.
If that's the ante you're not going to find anyone willing to play your game.
I hear you!
It must be pretty uncomfortable for them to see their dirty little secret being brought to the greater attention of 20 million conservatives.
Of course, W already has his second term, but I believe that Hillary might try to find a Perot like figure and work out a deal with him to split off enough of the republicans with a third party candidate. Personally, looking at Boxer, Kennedy, Kerry and Dean, I don't see anyone else in the Rat party that is even coherent, much less a viable candidate.
