I know there are many serious life and death things going on in our lives and this one, is not overtly that. However, it is a point of grace.
Please remember Jordan today. He tries out for the high school baseball team. Something he has literally, quite literally, prayed about every day of his little life, since he first picked up a bat. He prays to make the team "if it is Your will". So often what seems small to us as grown ups, looms large in smaller eyes. It will be life changing for him, and as mothers, we can recognize those points in a child's life when they step closer to a God that has already enveloped them in His infinite presence.
If you think about it today, please put his name before the Throne: that God remember his young servant Jordan; that God remember His promise to act on behalf of the saints' prayers; that God will enable Jordan to use the athletic gifts and talents given him in trying out; that Jordan will rely on his faith that God has already decided what will be; and at the end of the day, Jordan will have walked closer to, and seen the face of, the God he trusts.
That we can find joy and purpose in The Decision. And, oh - and that he makes The Team.

Please put on your ping list.
Pray hard... swing the bat!
You got it.
And BTW you win the award for the most obscure prayer request ever.
Baseball in January. I can't imagine.
Ping
You nailed it.
Good luck to him.
That's an easy prayer to send up!
Go Jordon!!!!
Remember this kid I predict he will do big things. Tall handsome and all A's.
What is important to us matters to God, because He loves us. If we do not get our desires, it is only because God has something better for us. But God would not have asked us to pray were it not to help us find His way...
I will pray for Jordan - let us know how it goes, please!
update from my friend:
TOTALLY AWESOME ANSWERED PRAYER in that he had a marvelous try-out. Wasnt nervous, hit solidly everything they pitched to him, encouraged other guys, threw straight as an arrow, caught everything that was thrown, made good base running decisions, and at 5:00, in pouring rain with a soggy baseball, was clocked at throwing down 70 mph.
He was so jazzed that he did so well - and was so relaxed last night. The names will be posted on the coach's door this morning. [He wouldnt promise he would call me at lunch time.]
So - answered prayer about a great tryout. He knows he did his best and knows God was with him.
I'm dying here. I almost want to call the school - but I know I cant. :o)
LOL!!! Wonderful. We await good news!
Nope, you can't call the school. If this is meant to be it will be so you have to have patience and wait and then accept the results good or bad. :) It's the way it all works.
Sometime the answer is no!
He's home. He didn't make it. He sounds like the bottom of the world but trying to be cheerful ...
Ah...sorry to hear that. Even though I said he would have to accept the outcome...I was still routing for him. Well, am sure he is disappointed and sad. But, the fact he is handling it well is a good sign and proves he's a worthy young man. Other good things will come his way. he'll see. Right now that is not important and understandably so but...there are good things and good times ahead for this young fella.
