Ive cultivated a very large list of e-mail pals around the world. I'm finding that the so called widespread hate isn't all that widespread. The hate is mostly rooted in the media everywhere.

My Russian friends are telling me a very familiar story. The feel that groups that conduct polls in Russia are seeking only answers that they want the people to believe. Literally every one of my friends believe that their media lies about America. They don't believe our soldiers are butchers and they don't believe America is a great oppressor.

In islamic nations there is hate for us and to a lesser degree there is plenty of hate in Europe. One of my Russian friends said today "Who cares what Europe thinks? They are not the world, they only think they are."

I was just over the pond for most of January and of all places Paris. The people were very very very nice. (I wasn't staying at a 4 star hotel ;-) I went expecting the worse. Not the case.

I saw one very small protest and that was for gay marriage right ;-/

So I know they have there loons but so DU we :-)

I am a German and I can tell you that the media in Europe is ran by the left and is biased as H*LL.I am glad I don't live there anymore,I constantly have to defend the Bush administration to my parents.My brother on the other hand is more open minded and is starting to see the light.
