Well, Rush Limbaugh has gone and done it now! He's sided with the 80%+ of Americans who want immigration laws enforced and speaks openly about the negative effects of illegal immigration on this country and its citizens. He's joined the rest of his fellow Americans and become "anti-immigrant," "racist," "bigot," and a "xenophobe." What did it take for him to finally recognize that all the hype of illegal immigration was phony? Small things really (1) Hollywood's elite demanding drivers' licenses for illegal aiens and (2) Mexico's continuing its blatant interference in US affairs by challenging the vote of Arizonans in passage of Prop 200.
Without those two events, we can conclude that he would remain both blind and silent on what 80%+ of Americans have known for years!
And talk about "a day late and a dollar short!" Rush warns that the issue has the potential to split the Republican Party apart! That ship's done sailed, Rush! Many GOPers are returning their membership cards to the RNC with notes scrawled "don't ask for money from me, get it from the illegals." After the Bush arrogance during the 2004 campaign by superimposing the Mexican flag over Old Glory on his election website, they're likely to already have Spanish-language donation request letters prepared. Add a smile and a sombrero to the RNC letterhead and they're ready for mailing.
The Bush Administration's betrayal of Americans over illegal immigration is a scandal that stinks to high heaven, and Johnson Wax doesn't make enough Glade to disguise it. Yet for these many years, Rush has been silent on the issue while babbling into the EIB Golden microphone. And all it took to upset him was a few spoiled Hollywood brats throwing their usual liberal tantrums? Rush, do you have an opinion on the 20 million plus illegal aliens camped out in our country? Do you even know about it?
I suppose I must give Rush credit for his nonetheless tardy recognition of the most serious problems facing America today, something that many of his fellow media elitists still refuse to acknowledge. We can only hope he broadcasts his newfound awareness to his large audience.
Or will he follow the despicable example of so many other influential Americans: caving in to his "Amigos" in the White House and resuming his former silence on the issue. He knows he'll have no more interviews at the White House otherwise.
Stay tuned to this column or Rush's next broadcast for the latest bulletin. Things are definitely heating up.
Rush, It's your country too ... do you care?

This is great to hear. I'd like to hear more details from Rush.
I'm afraid of that too. But if Rush thinks it's important *politically* he will follow up on it...
Illegal mexican immigration.
Thank Rush welcome aboard!!
Okay, so which one do you think wrote this? The first paragraph is right out of the posts of people on this forum.
I ment to say illegal Mexican immigration ---- I wish I could edit what I wrote. sorry
Here's hoping he can get some results.
I think if Hannity, Rush and others start to get on this wagon with their many tens of millions, even the Republicans know they have an issue on their hands.
They sure shouldn't just give it to Hillary to use in her next election to make her come off as human.
Well, Well, Well The Great GOP Mouth of the South!! -- Finally gets his rear in gear, just about when we have lost the whole Enchilada!!
You need to eat more refried whistle berries Rushbo, a little Break in the Wind from the other end might well punctuate the Hot Air about everything except this touchy subject of Immigration and Border Control!!
You best tell Bushie and the Boys we AINT TAKIN this!! We don't buy his bill of goods. He is either WITH US or HE"S AGAINST US!!! Tell the Pubbies to get us out of the UN TOO!!
Michael Savage has been beating this drum for years, and rightly so. I guess Rush's judgement was clouded by all that "cabbage" he was so fond of.
You left out Dane.
Immigration Could Break GOP Majority (Rush Limbaugh Slams Open Borders Lobby Alert)
I am not one of Savage's biggest fans - but he is right when arguing Boarders, Language and Culture .... and I suspect that grass roots conservatives agreee that illegal immigration is a threat to the USA. If the GOP takes this issue and runs with it, then they will find strong support
Better late than never.
Well said.
Many of us feel this way.
