It'll be disproven. Sample size is too small to discount the possibility of the results being due to chance. Plus, we've been lied to by researchers promoting homosexuality before, no reason to assume these are telling the truth.

So homosexuality is curable for at least some with gene therapy? How long before the gays are marching to ban genetic testing and research?

No, they don't.

The findings show that identical stretches of DNA on three chromosomes were shared by about 60 percent of gay brothers in the study compared to the about 50 percent normally expected by chance.

At minimum, you've still got to account for at least 40% of the phenomenon.

I think gays should be protected by the Americans With Disabilities Act and that the treatment should be a one way ticket and permanent visa to France.

I thought about turning gay once, but my genes told me not to do it.

Oh, no, we'll need a few thousand more studies and federal grants for that. /sarcasm

so this is a genetic problem... with the medical advances these days... it won't be long before gayness is phased out

researchers were able to locate a few potential genetic neighborhoods that likely contribute to male sexual orientation.

In other words, they haven't found diddly squat. Probably just looked for genetic similiarities among their sample group and as soon as they found some started mailing the presses.

What humors me is that if they *did* find an exact cause for homosexuality, do you think anyone would be interested in a "cure"? Au contraire, they'll be in an uproar about it.

His head may not know what he is but his DNA will always read "male". (or female)

Oh, no - not this "gay gene" crap again!

A bunch of my ancestors are supposed to have been pretty good boozers, at least one was a bigamist and one re-married at age 73 to a broad 40 years younger than he was. So, I guess I've got excuses for a bunch of stuff I've already done as well as justification for some good fun in the future!

Perhaps pro-lifers will consider the gay gene adequate cause to abort.

If true, gays will turn from pro-choice to pro-life very soon.

So if they get their gay genes from their fathers, how did they ever get to be born in the first place...? ;)

Liberals - what hypocrites!

When they want it something to be genetic - I don't know, say, HOMOSEXUALITY, then they can't talk enough about heredity, DNA, etc.

Of course, better not talk about how intelligence might be related to genes.

Otherwise, liberals might get the vapors.
