WASHINGTON, Jan 30 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush will make a statement at the White House on Iraq's election at 1 p.m. EST/1800 GMT on Sunday, the White House said
This man is about as exciting as a golf match. Does he even practice reading these speeches? Terrible, terrible delivery skills!
1400 American soldiers died so the Iraqis could vote today. Your pettiness is extremely telling.
Close. I heard one say, in regard to this election's high turnout, "Well, there was an even higher turnout for Saddam's elections, and they weren't legitimate.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, - Luke 4:18
Very good. If you go to the passage that Jesus quoted (Isaiah 61), there is even more detail.
When I saw those pictures, I thought to myself, "These people truly want to be free".
Look, propaganda ain't necessarily a bad thing. It can be an effective tool in moving masses of people toward a specific idea. The message of this photo is that liberty is a good thing. We (Freepers) already know this. We shouldn't have to be herded into that corral.
On the other hand, maybe the photo was snapped by a young photog gunning for a Pulitzer. Regardless, this photo, ( I said this photo. Not every flippin photo ever taken) for the reasons I listed , seems bogus to me.
:) Actually, just read where the Mayor of Baghdad wants to build a statue of President Bush because he said he is a symbol of Freedom. The dem/libs will choke on that one. :)
Somehow Reuters and Yahoo don't strike me as propagandists for the President.
Another slap on the hydra-headed Dem beasts:
Poles vote Bush world politician of 2004 [www.interestalert.com]
WARSAW, Poland, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush has been voted Poland's top World Politician of the Year for the third straight year.
Polling agency CBOS asked 1,089 adults between Jan. 7 and Jan. 10 to name the world leaders who most commanded their respect in 2004.
Ukraine's new, reformist President Viktor Yushchenko was second followed by United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
Poland is one of the United States' most loyal allies in the European Union. Prior to the U.S. elections in November, opinion polls showed Poland to be one of the few countries in the world where people favored Bush over his Democratic rival Sen. John Kerry.-United Press International.
God bless America!
A. The womans eye(s) are too photogenic
B. All the elements needed to convey this message are too perfectly framed
C. The "teardrop" began above and to the left of her tear duct.
Now, there is plenty to be jazzed about regarding this historic election. But I just can't cotton to this kind of manipulation.
Just calling it like I see it"

The woman's eyes are "too photogenic?"
Huh?
Also, you know where her tear BEGAN? Nevermind the HUGE possibilty that before the snap of the photo, her head was LOWERED (gravity shift of flow) for a number of reasons, including checking on a child or in prayer or in gratitute or in relief or happiness (with a tear in her eye,) or her head IN HER HANDS (again, gravity shift of flow)--overcome with EMOTION in being able to (escape possible death en route to) freely VOTE for the first time in her Saddam-free LIFE.
Hoboken, I'm not being "herded into some sort of corral,"--just looking beyond my nose. You choose to KNOW that her tear *BEGAN* just a bit too high, and think that she's "too phtogenic."
Ya know what? This is just a tad too trite. We just *see* the situation differently, that's all. I'll go with my possibilties.
Bush won.
But so strident were you in your lashing out at me you caused poor ol jveritas to think I was DU troll or something.
Seriously, check out his post. LOL, he got sooo caught up in our disagreement that he felt the need to scold me with a droll little "Bush won" . As if!
I have nothing to do with other posters. I expressed my opinions, as you did yours. I'm a big shutterbug who also loves to analyze photography and photo art. It's a cherished hobby of mine. Call me strident, call the Reuters/Yahoo photograph a phony based on your criteria. It's all OK.
My husband wonders how many more of those albums she's got to sell??? Then maybe she'll give it a rest.
