Peter Jennings is over at your old address right now.
Shame you can't stroll over there and slap the hell out of him.

What would make that picture perfect is to have Ted Kennedy in the role of Baghdad Bob.

I will have to call my wife's relatives in Italy and thank them. I will also have to learn Italian first.
I will have to get started! ;-)

I was reading articles yesterday about how the Dems have suddenly joined the Iraqi success bandwagon. so predictable of them.

I think it was the Sunnis they had concerns over- that's Saddam's sect. However, in Mosul (deep in Sunni land)- they had at least 500 defy the terrorist threats and vote.

Yes. This election not only represents a great victory for the Iraqi people but also vindication for all those nations that have stuck it out with us.
Who would have thought just a few years ago that Iraq would actually see a free and democratic election?
This is a huge defeat for tyranny and terrorim and the world seems like a much brighter place today.

We are now seeing why we should have been in Iraq . The seed of democracy has been brought to the oppressed peoples of Iraq. And the whole middle east. This in America's national interest from a security standapoint, an economic standpoint and a moral standpoint. That sums it up. Bin Laden's campaign has certainly been counterproductive. The pressure is now on Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The current regimes have some 'splainin' to do.

Kerry on FNC: "The real test isn't the election" blah, blah, blah. Basically what he's saying, the "real test" is the ol' Global Test that he spoke of during the campaign. Ass.

That's a good one!

Yeah, why they had to have anyone on opposite Hamlin is beyond me. You'd think he would deserve being interviewed by himself. And to have an a-hole like Jackson on opposite him was a very bad decision.
Fox just had a brief clip of Kerry saying that the important thing now is to see what happens each day after the election...yada, yada, yada...bringing in the international community...yada, yada, yada. What a dolt!!

There is no chance in hell the Bush administration intends this election as anything more than a trick. Those DUers are seriously delusional.

My biggest hope is that Allawi wins big.
There is detailed info out there on who is running and what they are about, I guess that will give us something to do while we wait the week or 2 for a count.

Yo're right, I got confused in my excitement over the great turnout! Never the less,it's a spectacular day for Iraqis.

""I don't want to seem unnecessarily skeptical," Jennings told Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on ABC's "This Week." "But in fact the Iraqis seemed to turn out in some places and not turn out in others.""
Gee, kind of sounds like elections in our country don't it? Isn't Jennings a jerk?

Bill krystol: "Kennedy wants Bush to fail more than he wants Iraq to succeed."
and this:
Kennedy/Vietnam references...Are we losing hearts and minds? ..He also called for immediate withdrawal.
Brit calls Kennedy's speech "the intellectual equivalent of graffiti..Got to be out of his mind to say such nonsense!"
Kerry says that "this is the last chance for Bush to get it right"..his cheerful comment on the elections aftermath.
