Heh. I guess since the only time Al Qaeda managed to swing an election was by bombing Spain, they're figuring to try doing it again and see if it works on the Iraqi election.

Guess the terrorists have given up on Iraq and are going for something more achievable.

Sympathy strike? Confused terrorists? Orders garbled in transmission, the part that said "in Iraq" unreadable? Half-hearted insurgents who fear the Spanish army less than the American army?

The ETA is never going to influence Spanish voters - they've been trying for decades - unless they adopt al-Qaeda tactics. A few railroad bombings in one day and they'll get Basque independence within the week.

Hell, why struggle to take over a hell hole like Iraq. Diversify. Look for a nice climate. You've seen you can have Spain, go there.

The terrorists know that at least the Spanish Socialists will surrender. They aren't making much progress in Iraq, though.

Very typical for ETA calling before the explosion.

Bye the way. Al Qaeda didn't swing the election. The stupid former Spanish prime minister did the swing himself claiming ETA while having evidence for Al Qaeda. He wanted to fool the people and therefore his party lost the election.

ETA terror caused more than 800 dead in other 30 years. The territory where the Basque live is still a part of Spain and France.

But this is impossible... the Spanish did just what the terrorists told them to... they elected Zapatero.

Peace in our time!
This can't be happening...
