The pictures from voting around the world made me teary. I called my children (and a neighbor kid who is here)over to the computer and explained that the people of Iraq could vote before, but they only could vote from Saddam Hussein. If they didn't vote they'd be tortured. Today the Iraqi people are free and can vote for whomever they want. Our military made that happen.

The neighbor kid said, "That's SO cool!"

My 8 year old son had to report on a current event Friday. He said the reason WhY there is an election in Iraq is to bring a better life, food, jobs, dignity and education to the Iraqui people. I was so excited to be sharing our enthusaism for those people with his classmates.
