Here is a note that was just posted on a `Raq blog;

~Greetings Friends,

I bow in respect and awe to the men and women of our people who, armed only with faith and hope are going to the polls under the very real threats of being blown to pieces.

These are the real braves; not the miserable creatures of hate who are attacking one of the noblest things that has ever happened to us.

Have you ever seen anything like this?

Iraq will be O.K. with so many brave people, it will certainly O.K.; I can say no more just now; I am just filled with pride and moved beyond words. People are turning up not only under the present threat to polling stations but also under future threats to themselves and their families; yet they are coming, and keep coming.

Behold the Iraqi people; now you know their true metal. We shall never forget the meanness of these bas…s. After this is over there will be no let up, they must be wiped out.

It is our duty and the duty of every decent human to make sure this vermin is no more and that no more innocent decent people are victimized.

My condolences to the Great American people for the tragic recent losses of soldiers. The blood of Iraqis and Americans is being shed on the soil of Mesopotamia; a baptism with blood. A baptism of a lasting friendship and alliance, for many years to come, through thick and thin, we shall never forget the brave soldiers fallen while defending our freedom and future.

This is a very hurried message, while we are witnessing something quite extraordinary. I myself have voted and so did members of my family. Thank Godfor giving us the chance.

Salaam for now,Alaa

I didn't catch it all, I can't wait to read the transcript of MTP tomorrow.

Kerry laughed when Tim mentioned Corise running against him.

Kerry basically gave a thumbs up to Dean as head of the DNC, guess he wants to kiss the new boss's ass before he gets the job.

Kerry wouldn't even say if he'd run for re-election in the Senate, he must be going to run for Pres. again. [roll eyes]

And I have to say that Allawi is probably one of the most courageous guys I've ever seen. Remember, he wasn't even our first or second choice! Glad we were wrong.

Carville should volunteer for that role if they go ahead and make "The Hobbit" movie.

Why they continue to make these prognostications-which are never borne out by the realities on the ground-is beyond my comprehension

Allow me to opine. They are cowards. Pure and simple. With Saddam in power he was fixed and secure. They knew what to expect from him and resigned themselves to that rather than the possibility of what may cone from his removal. The devil you know and all that.

With every blued Iraqi fingertip George Bush has changed the face of the middle east and the world forever. It has moved foreward and they don't recognize it anymore and this progress into a new world era scares the hell out of them.

Oh, thank you so much for posting that!

It's important the Iraqis recognize our soldiers and their sacrifices. After years of living in such a brutal country, it is going to be hard for them to find gentleness and grace in their hearts again. But they can do it and we need to find ways to encourage this regrowth of their spirit.

Meanwhile, over at DUfusland:
Yea, this is going to be a great representative government, With a third of the counrty not voting. A very volitaile third. . . And the Kurds are going to want to separate. That's even better.
And that's the least offensive of the posts. I guess this DUmmie doesn't know voter turnout here in the states gets nowhere near 72%.

The other DUmmies are just claiming it's all lies. Sheesh.

hahahaaaa!

Electoral Commission claims 72% voter turnout!

I was right. I said that there would be a BIGGER %-age turnout than the U.S. average.

On Friday I bet all students in all three of my classes a dime each that the turnout would be over 60%. Not one student took me up on the bet. Even the lefties know what's coming down.

They obviously don't think the Iraqi's are capable of governing themselves but why should that surprise us when they think the same thing about us!

Did Shep just say there was a 95% turnout of the 2.5 million people who live in Sadr City?
