It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
WOnder how long it will take them to show the video and make an arrest.?
Now Fox saying Reuters reporting the blast was a suicide car with one Iraq policeman as a casualty (early reporting).
I need to sign off on that note.
Former hostage Tom Hamill coming up on Fox.
I have been watching CNN tonight and they have shocked me with the huge amount of information they have provided on this Iraqi vote -- their anchors are excited about the election and say so -- it has been amazing to watch. I have learned more this evening about the election then I have in the last week.
Have seen the commercials that encouraged people to vote and found out they eat before voting and why no one showed up early except a few people. They are talking about 60% voter turnout all over the Country and notice now that people are going to the polls in greater numbers. Love watching how the people are all dressed up to vote.
CNN International is doing a very good job (knock on wood) -- hopefully they will stick with fair coverage.
Scarborough seems THRILLED that a bomb just went off. What comes first? Does a person have to be an SOB to get a media job or does having a media job make a person a sociopathic SOB?
And, according to an article I read, the Iraqis continue to be willing to enlist as policemen...knowing full well the dangers. God bless the fallen hero. God bless them all.
Yeah, a suicide bomber killed one policeman.
Imagine. Blowing yourself up to stop Iraqis from voting in free elections.
These terrorists are pathetic.
That's how I understood the initial report.
This man is to be praised. He stood up to the terrorist, protected his fellow citizens, and defended his country.
They might still pull a switcheroo, such as the gov turnover, to thwart the killers. It's what I'd expect and what might explain the low early turnout.
But everyone knew we would. The Ba'athist murderers have too much at stake. They would rather blow up the entire country than see it become a democracy.
I just pray that this makes the decent, freedom-yearning Iraqis even more determined.
she would be better with that voice on the other end of a 900 #......she looks like a little chipmunk......er big one
I just hope the suicide was successful.
God Bless our Troops.
Yup...they're so pleased because we one step closer to holding an election where no one comes.
Damn.
Good heavens, maybe Rita really should be at a bar somewhere. Her attitude seems to be, if I have to be on tv this late, there better be fireworks. Good Heavens, the media, even the good media, is just terrible.
Iraqi tv, if you can understand the language. I enjoyed the music, though.
You can go to this website and click low or fast connection and watch live Iraqi Tv.http://www.kurdistan.tv/
You're right. Just seeing the initials CNN tends to make me retch, but they're doing a good job tonight.
Fox kept touting that line about insurgents striking early that I got disgusted and went to CNN who is actually covering the election not having a bunch of military types on with their spin.
I hate to see CNN go back to American coverage -- their international people are doing a better job!
Didn't think about that....but that may well be true. Brave man, regardless.
Great tagline you have there.
One wonders if the Sunni muslim ringers at Reuters set it off.
Reuters reports... Make no mistake, Reuters (a German outfit) is basically a Stasi operation and they love jew-hating Sunni Muslims.
