It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
CNN back live. I know it's CNN, but they have live video from Kurdistan showing heavy voting. Good video too, not a portable videophone.
Great photos.
Just wondering--where do they put the ink to show you've voted if Saddam chopped off your hands?
FWIW, I think Major Bob is highly overrated. On this panel, I like LTCol Cowan the best..he is a humble low key dude. Col Hunt screwed the pooch with his lame-o, mushy commentary on Alien Colmes radio show.
"You know, Tim, if I had been elected President, the Iraqi elections would have been sooner and more successful and better and cheaper and smarter and better and... FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! WHY DID YOU PEOPLE VOTE FOR BUSH??? DO YOU REALIZE THE HELL TERESA IS PUTTING ME THROUGH???"
They are saying the voting in the Kurd region could reach 80% as they are now out and going to the polls. Had to get breakfast first all over Iraq it looks like!
Cool, here's an actual person voting in Baghdad - MSNBC live video. Now it just switched to commercial.
Great news PKM.
I love those photos!
They are celebrating by having a family breakfast first... : ) (besides being on time in their own time : )
That's true. It's about quarter past eight right now and that's still pretty early for Iraqis. The sun is up now, but the dew is still on everything.
Just to let y'all know...what you're seeing on TV is the best access. (We're seeing it, too.) I can report sounds and atmosphere, but I'm on a base and we're so locked down these last couple of days, it's not funny.
I pray we don't hear any of those nasty explosions coming from the city center and I also pray that with security so tight around the polling places, the lowlifes don't start aiming for our bases.
So far, so good.
You know that early exit polling got the MSM in trouble in the last election they attempted to cover. Don't ya think they would have learned something from their mistake?
God, CNN is praying that the Kurds get bombed today. I wouldn't be surprised if CNN got a tip. Boy would they love to
capture some insurgent caused mayhem in the Kurdish North. CNN is worse than Al Jazeera in many respects. The Western Media hates the Kurds because the atrocities in Halabja complicates their "Saddam never had WMD" line. And they also hate that the Kurds are so pro-American.
God, I hate our Media.
The guy that captured Hussein is on! Voted earlier.
Don't worry about the MSM and their friends in the party. The American people are seeing who they are and what they desire. It'll play out as it should.
No; and that's what's driving them down, down, down, down to irrelevancy.
"God, I hate our Media."
Check out FOX. Samir _____, the interpreter who pulled Sadam out of the spider hole is being interviewed live.
The women and men democrat strategists all sound a little ditzy---except maybe a few that just sound down right mean and nasty---like Bob Beckel.
We all have to remember that these dems are the same people that, having lost the presidency again and more rep. and senate seats, still came out and said that their strategy this next year is obstruction.
They are the personification of the meaning of insanity!!!
CNN has a positive story on about the Syrian woman... what's up with them? heh
Hey, WE ARE THE MEDIA. Have you forgotten about the Buchhead revolution? Don't worry about the MSM; they're the past.
You are so dead right.
Thank you for the live reports.
