Thank you for starting this thread. Last night as I was driving home and listening to the radio, ABC News was reporting various positive stories of Iraqis voting in the United States. My eyes filled with tears and I thought of all of the debates with my liberal friends when I'd always end with how noble the President's vision was. The joy of the thousands who vote here is confirmation and I pray for the safety of those who vote tomorrow in Iraq.

That pic reminds me of how, on 9/11, citizens of other nations said, "Today we are all Americans." These pictures make me want to shout, "Today we are all Iraqis".

Could GW be right? Could the power of freedom be so great? I tend to think so. It was in Afghanistan. There a car bomb exploded less then a block(IIRC) from where group of ladies were standing in line to vote. They didn't move because, as they explained later, "We didn't want to lose our place in line."
If Iraqis shows the guts and courage of those ladies they will do just fine.

The Baathists in Syria must tremble when they see this. Only in US "occupied" countries can people vote for their leaders in the Middle East. America...what a country!!!

We have just given the greatest gift one man can give to another. There is no selfless act more divine than giving ones life for another mans freedom. God is smiling, and proud of us today. The fallen soldiers that have given everything so that this gift is possible are being greeted with open arms as they pass through heavens gate for there is a special place reserved for their arrival. You have a gift. Your amazing words put a lump in my throat and mist in my eyes.
