WASHINGTON -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, along with Border Patrol agents, are on the ground in Iraq to help secure that country's war-torn borders prior to tomorrow's national elections, CBP officials said yesterday.

CBP spokeswoman Kristi M. Clemens said the deployment team will bolster current border security efforts, providing support and additional training for Iraqi border police -- which will continue beyond the elections -- in an effort to keep saboteurs, terrorists and armaments from crossing into or out of the country.

Don't blame the guys and gals on the ground; blame the idiots in Washington that refuse to let them do their job.

I think only the dyed in wool haters blame the line officers/agents.
Those cretins would complain about Kobe Tai wanting to move in with them.
Most of us know it would only take an order from Washington to fix the problem.

Thank you for what you try to do.

Yeppers. More men, more trucks, more technology, and especially, a whole lot more cracking down on the reason most of them are coming here in the first place - the employers who hire illegals.

Just imagine if we could eliminate 90 percent of the illegal traffic coming here to work because they knew no one would hire them. You guys could then put more effort into trying to stop the illegals coming here to do harm to us, and it would be a hell of a lot easier to find them in a much smaller stream.

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents are fighting the war on terror, and we've taken it to the borders of Iraq," said CBP Commissioner Robert C. Bonner

If all the Free Republic.com members who are Bush/Republican cheerleaders would get off that gig and start fighting to reclaim our national sovereignty, it would be a big help.

The continued wink and nod to crap like this from Republicans by party loyalists is disgusting.

Those of you who are party cheerleaders are pathetic. We need fighters to reclaim our sovereignty, not Sean Hannity party loyalist types.

Wife wife would complain about that, but not me. :)

Thank you for your support.

Maybe they can install E-Z Pass customs checkpoints between Syria and Iraq to speed the flow of insurgents.

Don't forget the water, food, and shelter stations along the migration routes. And the voter registration cards, drivers' licenses, free health care, free educational benefits, welfare payments, retirement plans, etc.

Based on your posts here and on certain other "conservative" (yeah right) forums, I know what you think would be "secure borders". Of course TPTB doesn't like it when I point out things certain people say so I'm not going to give TPTB reason to claim I'm violating the rules.

This is total madness. Here in the valley we have a warning from the State Department about violence on the border. The drug cartels have threatened to get 2 FBI agents and take them back to Mexico and kill them. So now our border patrol agents are in Iraq?

Real swift, what f'n idiot decided our border guards should be in iraq versus protecting our borders? It's obvious at this point that the powers that be care nothing out Americans or America. Friggin Traitors.

You know, you'd think that our "leaders" would see the terrible irony in sending border agents to control the borders of another country.
