2 dead 16 injured, as per Fox news
Thanks for the ping, I was hoping for a live thread.
Prayers for the safety of the Iraqi voters.
Thank you! There've been a few requests to have the title of the thread changed to reflect its LIVE content. So far to no avail.
Hi, Mo I was hoping that we would all keep a vigil on FR during the Election. Reminiscent of the 5000+ post threads during March 2003. I wonder if there is anything like the Bagcam now?
Fantastic and powerful testimony from an Iraqi blogger.
Afghanistan was such a huge success that the former Taliban, who were supposed to disrupt those elections, were actually chewed out by their leaders for being so ineffectual. In Afghanistan, people stood in line for hours in a foot of snow with nothing but a blanket wrapped around them to keep them warm while they made their way to the polls. In Afghanistan, the streets were supposed to run red with blood... as has been threatened in Iraq. Instead, the streets ran strong with courage and voter turnout was huge.
IRAQIS: GET OUT THE VOTE !!
Thanks, Mo1.
Because we didn't want to give the Ba'athists the keys wholesale. We at least wanted to divide up their organizations and get a chance to vett the recruits.
Thanks, Mo1!
Praying for a large voter turnout and safety for those who have made this election possible.
Bump for a great post! Do you happen to know a link for a live Bagcam?
Has anyone started a Live Thread yet?
Wow, did it go that high. I was so riveted to the thing I paid no attention to the length of the thread. I mostly just slept on the couch since I did not have a computer upstairs.
I don't know a link for a live BagCam... wish I did !! Life hasn't been the same without them. :-(
You slept???? (weenie ;^)
This thread has been functioning as the LIVE thread since this morning. There is no other one.
Maybe we should put you in charge/ I bet this kind of thing would never happen on your watch

And to prevent 50 related threads on the subject...
Ping. There's now a LIVE thread here:
Or French in Algeria.
"The sun will soon rise over Mesopotamia..." Could you post his poignant message on the live election thread? More people need to read that-makes me teary every time I read it!
Go Iraqis!!!!
