Mr. Sparks (her fiance) said Ms. duFresne was strongly against capital punishment, and would have felt some sympathy for her young attacker. "This isn't about some bad, murdering criminal," he said. "It's about a culture that makes it so easy for kids to have guns."

Norm Abrams is the best and Tom Silva is the very best.
I was thinking of extremely extreme cases, such as Hitler (it helps that he's wrongly perceived as being right wing). But yes, you're right, especially about kids. I see it in kids all the time. They can hardly bring themselves to call something wrong let alone evil.
I was thinking of the saying 'A conservative is a liberal who's just been mugged' which I mistakenly attributed to Churchill. He actually said something else. My mistake.
Oh. OK. Thanks, I was puzzled!
Anymore, I'm not shocked easily.
I'm shocked!
I had nothing to base it on other than there is usually more to a crime than what is first reported, but I had the some of the same thoughts too.
You're not way off base here. I naturally and instinctly step between my wife and a perceived danger. If anyone were to bring harm to my wife I would bring down such a world of hurt on that person that the end of braveheart seem like a foot massage.
Have you ever noticed that when the cops take a suspect that has hurt someone into court the suspect is often wearing a bullet proof vest? it is because there are many many more men out there just like me. This clown is the abberation.
This village idiot just blames society for letting outlaws have illegal guns. No doubt the twit thinks more gun laws on the rest of us will help matters.
It also looks like the police don't plan to book the shooter's gang... Such stupidity! ...Claiming they were all just bystanders not aware of what was happening! Gimme a break! That lone gunman wouldn't have approached so many whities on his own, and his friends CERTAINLY knew he was 'packin'. No doubt this gang had robbed others before this incident. Hang 'em all!
And r.i.p. to the darwin-challenged actress who mouthed off to a gunman.
Its odd to hear the NYC police claiming they needed citizen input as well. The murderers stole one of the lady's CELL PHONE! So the stupid a-holes should have been traceable down to about a 15-foot radius by the phone company.
What do you expect from a lilylivered coward who lets a girl step in front of him to take a bullet?
I'm willing to bet this wussy wet his pants when it happened.
Does this idiot not realize the three thugs could have as easily beaten her to a pulp with a crowbar or stabbed her to death with a switchblade?
Yep. I find myself feeling less and less sorry for these people, too.
Excuse me? I guarantee I would have gotten the first shot off.
They probably didn't book them in a deal whereby they turned over the shooter; often done here in NYC.
I wouldn't take what is said on this thread too seriously. The people are not commenting on the person, but rather the event. For some it fits in with another agenda of Second Amendment Rights or what an inhospital place NYC can be. For others, it allows them to fantasize about what they would do under similar circumstances. As anyone in theater will tell you, tragedy is the most powerful of dramatic forms, capable of reaching people on many levels. What you have read on this thread is simply human response to a tragedy.
Blow it thoroughly and abruptly out your hugely self-righteous ass.
We'll talk about whatever and whoever we please, poseur--- and for our benefit, not yours.
If you were really and truly grieving, you wouldn't have the energy for the net.
and your bullying makes it worse.
Boo fricking hoo, you troll wuss.
Go cry on some other forum's shoulder. What a man you are.
