...what does that mean for the free exchange of ideas that has always been one of the central values – perhaps the central value – of the American polity?

Why, it means exactly was Islam intends...the death of the free exchange of ideas just like the deaths of all human freedoms.

Islam isn't about freedom. Islam is about submission. The submission of women to men and the submission of men to Allah (as determined by the Mullahs).

Islam intends to imprison the world. It intends to dominate the world.

Is that the kind of world you want for your children?
