Albeit shooting at em is a bit extreme even here in Texas these power sorts will trash yer big mature trees for free......

If you own land here in Texas you don't have control over the "easement" that is granted (stolen from you) to the utility and governmental agencies who use it for their own purposes such as water, sewer etc...
Look at you land plat and you will see the easement clearly outlined in the layout. "Users" of your easement have free access to that piece of land and have the "right" to do anything they see fit to do on it, anytime they wish.
You own it but you don't control it. Worse yet, you pay taxes on it and are legally liable and responsible for anything that happens on it. They don't pay you anything for it but your rates keep going up and up and up.
I won't even go into "rights of way" pertaining to other land that you must maintain but not own.
So now, you know that they can do anything they wish on your piece of property at any time they wish.
The only thing you have going for you is that they must clean up the mess they make and restore the dirt as close as possible back to it's original state. Not the trees, grass or shrubs.......just the dirt.
