This has always been our policy.

NOT EXACTLY.. the only difference is that the IRAQI leadership understands AND ACCEPTS THE FACT that we are not going anywhere until we (President Bush) is convinced that they can handle their own security.

"The point that President Bush is making is that we are not occupiers."

That will be proved again.

You know, when we had our revolution, Britain, France and Spain had their bit parts. They were all juggling for an edge against each other while giving us the barest of crumbs. We did it ourselves.

We had no one really sponsoring us. Iraqis are grateful to have somebody to finally straighten things out around there so they can get a civil life together in their own fashion.

What is REALLY happening is the surrounding countries are sending their scumbags to Iraq to get killed off by us so they don't have to deal with them.

I want Iraqis to think hard about death sentences for all foreign scumbags there immediately. About 10-20 thousand beheadings in one day should stop that problem.

Don't anybody get in an uproar - Bush said this a long time ago. After Iraq was given their sovereignty - Bush had a news conference and he gave that exact statement - saying the USA was under contract to Iraq to supply security and if and when Iraq asked us to leave - we would leave.

THIS IS NOT ANYTHING NEW!!

Drudge would rather rehash old news instead of asking

"Why is a traitor STILL in the US Senate"
or
"How come Hanoi Kerry never signed Form 180"

Of course all the Right Wing Main Stream Media "forgets" these 2 questions also.

That is NOT true.. IF we are asked to LEAVE and President Bush is NOT convinced that they can adequately defend themselves WE STAY.. PERIOD... THAT IS OUR POLICY !!!

The point is moot because they IRAQI people now understand this, and are working with us, and WANT us to stay until they get their own defense forces up to par.

No, this is not a good message. Just a few days ago he was willing to station 120,000 trops in there as long as it took.

Now, a new Iraqi leader can be "influenced" to ask us to leave, and the President says we'll comply??

What exactly is the "influence" factor?? We've had enough of these soft "wins" in VietNam, Bosnia, Somalia, where we extracate ourselves with "grace".

We went to war with Saddam, and Iraq, to do a job of finding the hidden and then moved WMD; then to liberate the people and create a free thinking populace.

We're not done yet, and a new government can-not and will-not defend itself from terrorists that use dull knives to cut off heads. We must stay the course to see this problem to it's conclusion. Our guns and equipment are desparately needed to ensure that the people of Iraq can join the modern world!

W, don't even consider pulling out!

Jim is probably busy. There is a CPAC conference soon. After these things are done, we can just start a thread: "WE WANT COFFEE CUPS!" LOL

There are people than can likely get it together in 24 hours. Just like it always has been done around here. LOL!

Yeah? So? That's what he's been saying all along. He has said that since before the June 30th hand off.

This is not the first time he or someone in his administration said this. I think the similar/identical statement was some months, even a year ago.

I remember being quite dismayed by this, because what if the Iraqi government is just dumb enough to do exactly that. But someone more knowledgeable (hopefully!) pointed out that the elected leaders know, that if the Americans leave, the terrorists will take over, massacring everyone in the government. I just hope they won't think that letting themselves be blackmailed by terrorists would help them -- as the Spanish deluded themselves.

But I do wish Bush hadn't said that, even on a one in a million shot.
