I may be wrong but Delgado isn't an American citizen. I think he's from Puerto Rico.

Well ..... Puerto Rico IS American.

I hate to disillusion you but yes - Puerto Ricans ARE American citizens. As for his comments - just another angry liberal. I hope he keeps on saying what he's saying. We really need the American Left to show Americans how they still can't get over last year's election and how bitter and disappointed they are in this country.

An opponent of the war in Iraq, Delgado refused to stand when ``God Bless America'' was played last season at games involving his Toronto Blue Jays. Instead, he would stay on the bench or go into the dugout tunnel.

Hey so long as the guy is mature about it, not like that moron who laid on the bench in the NBA. Its a free country and so long as he is not disrespeting people..

Maybe we should ask the Department of State to revoke his work visa.
Uh... Carlos Delgado was born 23 June 1972 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Last time I checked, that's in the United States, and people born there are United States citizens.

If fans are made aware of this, and simply decide to skip Marlins games on the road, either team policy would change or their roster would change.

Puerto Ricans are Americans. Puerto Rico is an American Commonwealth.

Freedom is to also take responsibility for your actions.

He is free to express his feelings. Nobody is forced to accept them.

He, and the Marlins, are free to receive any boycott, booing or whatever comes along.

A usual thinking of the left is that everybody is supposed to cheer any idea they openly express. Not to support them (in their mind) is not supporting freedom.

It doesn't work that way.

He is free do stay seated. The fans are free to boo and boycott.

I thought that you were REQUIRED to stand only during the National Anthem?

Freedom of speech, freedom of expression...

On his own time, perhaps. I guarantee it wouldn't happen if he was on the clock and I was paying his salary.

Despite all the breastbeating, conservatives, even some freepers, will rationalize in a million different ways and shell out loads of money to support this guy.

There's no discipline in conservative ranks, which I suppose is why we're conservative and independent-minded.

(....and the lib, lefty and hate-America crowd know this all too well and rely on it......)
