Are Students Safe At Blackhawk ?
The Blackhawk Outreach Center has been in the spotlight in the past week. It is the school whose students included murder victim, Adrienne Reynolds and the two people accused of killing her. The outreach center is a program to help young people who've run into trouble in mainstream schools. But is there something about the program that is not safe?
With all the recent press the center has gotten a lot of negative attention. But from what we've seen, The "Blackhawk Outreach Center is safe. Although many people may not know what the outreach center is or what they do, they've been helping at risk students for 20 years.
"Optional education is a second choice alternative high school for students who have, for whatever reason, not been successful in the public school system," says Program Coordinator, Sharon Towner.
The students who go to Blackhawk are there to finish their high school education and get their G.E.D.'s. The center is an alternative high school where students get a second chance. The program has several unique ways of helping students. The school day is shorter, there are in house counselors, there's student transportation, and students can take one class at a time. For some, like Tammy Dickerson, if it were not for these types of programs at Blackhawk, they wouldn't be in school at all.
"You don't have to go to seven different classes, its a shorter day," says Tammy. "If you have a job you can leave early and go to work. You can one on one interactive with the teachers. It's completely different from what you had in high school."
Sharon Towner says the school and it's students go way beyond what is on the surface.
"When you first look at them (students) they may have different clothing, or piercings, or whatever, but if you look a little deeper you seen an ordinary teenager."
According to the coordinator of the program, about 45 to 50 students complete their G.E.D's a year.
For some reason it seems that juvy records all are available on this site. I'm not complaining though cause with having a teenage son I can check up on kids when I hear their names. :)

Article says that Adrianne Reynolds was a member of the QuadCity juggalo group.

Not to mention that it's handy if you're considering moving into a new neighborhood.
Boatload of info on Adrianne's background here:

Adrianne's family tree gets complicated. Tony Reyolds isn't her biological father...he was married to Adrianne's biological grandmother & is her adoptive father & (adoptive) grandfather. Adrianne's biological grandmother is Tony's ex-wife... My heart breaks yet one more time for this kid.
>>My brother withdrew her from the program after a few weeks because she was receiving repeated and escalating threats of physical violence from a couple other female students. He contacted the school to try and resolve the problem, but they didn't respond.<<
This is interesting and something worth contacting a local reporter about. Especially in light of Adrienne's murder. It seems from what you are saying that BHC is and has not been immune to "problems."
It's a good thing Sarah is a lesbian because the only action she'll be getting again will be another girl.
This weeks issue of People Magazine has a story on this incident and it reads like Adrianne had a "crush" on Sarah. Don't get me wrong, I am completely on the same page as everyone regarding Sarah Kolb and Cory Gregory and this entire thing sickens. I'm sure Adrianne's family doesn't appreciate the paragraph regarding a crush. It's the Feb 14th issue with Terri Hatcher on the cover.
>>Or maybe she's got the David Bowie eye thing going...<<
Excuse me, but what's that?
Bowie looks at first glance to have two different colored eyes. But he's really got one permanently dilated pupil due to an injury, or so I've read. The dilated large pupil makes the eye look much darker than the other.
Thanks for the explanation.
What you're saying People is reporting has been hinted at in prior reports:

Psycho Sarah lived right down the street from me. I drive past her house everyday. It's really creepy that nobody noticed her driving around in broad daylight with a dead body in the passenger seat. I'm sure I've seen this girl too at a few ICP concerts I've been to. I know it's not the music that made these freaks do what they did. They were messed up long before they started listening to ICP. A friend of mines nephew used to date Sarah back in grade school. From what I understand the whole family is a little, shall we say, "disfuntional".
Anyway, I'm sure ICP enjoys the free publicity. I hope parents will realize they are the ones incharge of there kids, not the music.
Why was she called Psycho Sarah?
Who's the whole family? I read Sarah has a sister.
A hair from the front passenger seat (where Adrienne was reportedly sitting when Sarah began grabbing and pulling her hair) and a disposable camera have been discovered in Kolb's car according to -
