When they first brought the prisoners to Gitmo, there were stories of the inmates glaring at female guards while masturbating. Any image of these animals as pure and holy is total hype. The Taliban committed rapes, as do the holy men in Iran. In their eyes, these transgressions can be blamed on the women, so women are often violated then punished for causing it. While I'm sure they're not all like that, it's likely that any who show any sexual restraint are rare.

I remember many reports in earlier days about Gitmo prisoners masturbating to try to intimidate the female guards, which really makes me question this report by former Army Sgt. Erik R. Saar. Just how did AP get this manuscript that's supposedly classified pending Pentagon review? I hope this doesn't turn out to be another incident of aberrant behavior that the media will use to tarnish all our military with the same perverse brush, a la Private Lynnie Englund.

After the Camp David Agreement with Egypt in the late 1970's, I was stationed at George AFB when several hundred Egyptians were brought in for several months of training on the planes that we were giving them.

A few of them came into our office and asked me where they could find the girls. (Did I mention that I am a girl? I had dark hair and was considered fairly good looking in my youth, ha ha). I told them, "I am a girl, what do you mean?" They said they were looking for "blond girls". I told them they might try the bowling alley.

We later had the OSI come in and stay in our quarters to investigate because we started getting complaints of prostitutes going from room to room. Whether they found the prostitutes at the bowling alley, I don't know.
