Hey, I call it like I see it. The words don't scan with the original lyrics. You put something up there in public you better expect it to get critiqued. I don't think its very good, so I said so. And I have seen little evidence that politeness outweighs honesty here at FR. Its a forum, its for posting opinions. I posted mine. Its called America and Freedom of Speech, learn to live with it. I didn't attack the guy personally or make cheap comments. I made substantive, valid and honest points about the fact that the song bites, the phrasing doesn't match the original song, the lyrics are neither very trenchant nor witty, half the song doesn't even bother to rhyme, the part that does uses the same rhymes over and over. Its not a well-done spoof. If someone craps in my hat I don't put it on and say "Thank you, it fits much better." Maybe you do. You are also free to say its the best song parody since Mark Russell. That's your right as an American. Respect mine without giving me a lecture on manners. Thanks for listening.
