>> How many of them are up for re-election in 2006?<<

Akaka - Safe seat for him
Kennedy - Safe seat for him
Dayton - Good chance to oust him
Jeffords - Pretty safe seat for him
Byrd - May not run in 06, might be vulnerable if he does

The title is ridiculous. To state that Rice's race was the reason for these Democrats voting against her is every bit as ludicrous as saying that Republicans don't like Jesse Jackson because he's black. I despise political correctness in all its forms.

Yessir, it was when I went to school anyhow.

It was an excellent photo of Fat Teddy. A more recent shot, where he's in shorts, waddling down a jetty, walruslike, might have been more amusing, but the photo used is better. Amazing that he had the gall to wear a neck brace...and after swimming what was it, a quarter of a mile through racing tides to try and save Mary Jo? What a hero.

Speaking of Hillary Clinton up for reelection in 2006, do you think the general public realizes how manipulative and insincere she is being by postering to the center...on abortion and prayer, etc?

Quite a gang.

Jeffords, who ran as a Republican, and then changed parties midstream against the will of his voters, who elected him as a Republican.

Kennedy, who allowed a woman to drown, lied to police, and escaped prosecution.

Byrd, who "used to" belong to the KKK, still uses the n-word, and rambles like the Senate is his own private nursing home.

Lautenberg, who was elected thanks to NJ judges throwing out their own state constitution to avoid the humiliation of a Republican beating the corrupt Tortellini.

He got like 85% of the vote last time...so I doubt it, unfortunately, and I also don't see him retiring - ever.

You can't? Bayh has been doing this sort of thing since he was first elected. I'm baffled every time Sean Hannity mentions him as a "moderate" Democrat. He's as liberal as the worst of them - participating in the filibusters of the judicial nominees and everything else.

I don't know, for some reason I thought he would rise above this. Hilliary didn't vote against Rice... Hmmmm... I wonder if Hilliary payed Boxer to do what she did, knowing that she could be facing her in '08.

I hate these guys. I wish we could just annex Detroit to Canada and then Michigan would be great again.

I agree. I think the only reason Stabenow didn't vote against her is because she is up for reelection. She usually just votes the party line also. The political opportunism of these people is amazing. (but not really)

Buh-bye Babs. You're toast.

Only in our dreams, I'm afraid...the wench has got the safest seat in the senate, and her menopausal rants will be long forgotten in another six years.

Not if he runs as an independent. He'll have to get the Democratic Party nomination nod. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I think he's going to lose.

Desperate people do desperate things! They will not be treated well by history and that will do it for me.

Agreed. It's amazing how these blue areas in mostly red states have all the problems they do when they elect democrats to everything, but they just don't seem to make the connection.
