This was stellar even by Steyn's lofty standards.

That is a bumper sticker I would buy, although I do not think we mean it the way the drafters intended.

Thats why, three years ago, to the horror of the EU, Bush decided that there was no point wasting time with Yasser Arafat: when the old monster protested that it was not within his power to stop the suicide bombers, he was either lying, which makes him an unreliable sonofabitch, or he was telling the truth, which makes him a useless sonofabitch. But either way America had no interest in facilitating the creation of yet another fetid Arab dictatorship. Absolutely right on! Steyn nails it..... any kind of election Sunday is a momentous occasion for the Arab world. Historians two hundred years from now will still be discussing the Bush Doctrine!

Nothing stands still. By 2050, the population of relatively tiny Yemen will be greater than the population of vast empty Russia. Will all those young Yemeni men stay in their cramped, crowded country and will it be able to support them? Or will they leave?
Great article again by Steyn with the exception of the above....I don't understand it. Is he being facetious, sarcastic -- I didn't get it. Russia has about 145,000,000 people and Yemen has about 17,000,000. (Does he mean per square mile -- If so his editor should have caught this one.)

Great column. thanks for posting it.

Maybe we can frame the problem in words Boxer and her wackos would understand.
The 9/11 attacks were similar to an "advance party" from Planet X --- beaming down to Earth from some UFO.
We can't negotiate with the space creatures.

Thanks for the ping. As usual Mark is right on target, Bush means business, always has from day one of his administration.
