Totally agree. Most of the problem is with elderly drivers, and a good percentage of those have out of state tags. I don't know if they're afraid of driving in the same lanes as trucks, or if they don't like having to deal with traffic merging in from on-ramps.

Regardless, they sit in the left lane at barely highway speeds (70 mph is the posted limit on I75 in this area) and refuse to move over, even when some hot-head gets on their bumper, flashing their lights and hitting the horn. Considering many of the transplants down here are from the Northeast or Canada, you can imagine the impatience, and easily foresee the resulting road rage that accompanies it...

It's not just the elderly, people here think it's their God given right to drive in any lane they want, at any speed they want. If you dont like it, you can go around. (not IMO but have been told by Lefties)

I have to agree, nothing ticks me off more than being stuck behind someone going slow in the left lane. I don't speed like I used too but I do go about 3-4 mph over the speed limit just to keep me from sitting in a group of cars. Another thing is the PPl who refuse to adjust their cruise control and will sit in the left lane riding side by side with the car in the right lane refusing to touch the gas pedal and move around them.

Oh, and the trucker who jumps into the left lane at the bottom of a hill and rides all the way up next to another trucker. Hmmmm, maybe I should just quit driving.
