Not scorn, just that I'd point out that for roughly the same money you could have a faster Mac mini with better software, a more stable OS, a firewire port, better video/graphics capabilities, support for bluetooth & WiFi, and a drive capable of not only reading DVDs, but burning them as well (and also being able to burn CDs). Oh, and you wouldn't need an anti-virus application. :-)
I have firewire (installed it after I bought the system, $30); better video/graphics is subjective; did I mention it has a DVDR? Yes... it burns them quite nicely, thanks.
The only... ONLY problem I've had with this computer is the sound when speaking on Skype or Firefly... too much static. But I could have bought an Apple with no keyboard or monitor or mouse. Damn I'm stupid.
But no keyboard, monitor, or mouse. He said he got the 19" monitor included in the $900 price. The current Dell deal is a 2.8 ghz P4, 256 gig of RAM, 17 inch monitor, and 40 gig HD for just $499 (and that includes the keyboard and the mouse unlike the chintzy Mac).

More Mac-Head mythology from the Mac Evangelists. The Mac Mini is LESS THAN HALF the speed of the Dell computer mentioned above - the Mac Mini has 1/4 of the memory of the Dell machine mentioned above and costs about twice as much Dell the computer mentioned above ($500 gets you a computer without a monitor NO keyboard and NO mouse)
You don't have to be computer illiterate to use a Mac - but it helps.

Since when did the MAC become 'virus-free?'
Now what if I want to upgrade my harddrive, add more memory, add an additional CDROM, change my graphics card to the latest "whiz-bang" version, add a memory stick reader, install a tape drive, upgrade the sound card, add additional USB/Firewire ports, etc., etc.? I have to pay Apple a king's ransom for the upgrade stuff (not to mention the prices Apple charges for operating systems and software.)
First cost isn't the only consideration.
