Syndicated columnist Maggie Gallagher issued the following statement today: On January 26, 2005, Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post wrote that I "had a $21,500 contract with the Department of Health and Human Services to help promote the president's proposal." To me, this is an extremely serious charge. It is also completely false.
-snip-
I was not paid to promote the President's marriage proposal. In 2001 I was approached by HHS to do research and writing, not on the President's $300 million marriage initiative, but on marriage...
-snip-
Moreover on Jan. 25, I offered Howard Kurtz copies of my contract and invoice as documentation of my work product. He had also received a copy of my January 25 column (below), explaining the exact nature of the work I performed, before he filed his story.

Kurtz went to the Dan RATher school of journalism.
And he tried to RAT-her. And failed.
Now Kurtz claims to write for more than one paper.. is this a violation? Is he perhaps writing things in one paper to advance the agenda of the other?!??

Hadn't heard about this, but nonetheless when I read a story about some dingbat Liberal "stepping in it", I can't help but relish the moment and revel in their ongoing agony.

You sound like such a stupid ignorant hick. Little do you know that 25% percent of black live under the poverty line. We were not a free country before 1965 when blacks were segregated. Even now, you ignorant obseqious follower of script, many people are segregated by property taxes and don't recieve the same education as the average person.
Nothing better than someone totally unfamiliar with the forum jumping in all half cocked, except when they're too cowardly to address you in public. I wonder who pushed abuse?

In the interest of full disclosure I'm a newbie too.
Typical of closet liberals I think your attacker has a few things a bit out of focus though. First its true that prior to the mid-sixties there was much to be desired in racial relations in America. However its important to note that America is the only nation were men fought to free otyher men. In fact 600,000 died to make other men free.
Secondly, it was the very same people many liberals still pay homage to (Robert Byrd, Al Gore) to fought tooth and nail to obstruct the verysame laws that ended segragation.
Its true that 25% of blacks live under the poverty line however thats because there has been a conscious decision by the Democrats to keep them there. Handing someone a minimum monthly check isn't getting them ahead in any way. In fact I think an excallent argument could be made that Democrats have worked overtime to destroy the Black family which was once the strongest of American institutions.
Lastly your correspondent cites property taxes as a reason that poor people are denied education. This is pure nonsense. Inequities in education are directly and perhaps only attributable to the NEA and their minions in the Democrat Party. If the school voucher program endorsed by every Republican Presidential candidate since 1980 had been available any school would be open to anyone. Many racial minorities have in effect made a conscious decision through their votes to sell their souls to people who deliberately deny equal opportunities.
If jackcpatriot is going to make outlandish accusations please try and come up with something original. At least the DU Diebold conspiracy was a new and creative bit of conspiracy fiction.
No - actually he's extremely loquacious, as you can tell. He registered by himself and specifically said, "that 'Owl_Eagle' is going down!"
Again, I'm mortified.
Sounds like the basis for a defamation lawsuit. He knowingly filed a false story which besmirched her reputation as a journalist.
That ones easy to track down, just look up the head of the Sociology dept at your closest University.
