Killer who cited Metallica lyrics executed 09:58 PM CST on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 Associated Press

Excerpt from http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/012605dntexexecute.4995f.html

HUNTSVILLE – A condemned killer who twice avoided execution last year when courts halted his punishment on the day he was to die was executed Tuesday for a slaying in Corpus Christi more than 20 years ago. The execution came after the U.S. Supreme Court refused on a narrow 5-4 vote to block Troy Kunkle's execution. Kunkle was contrite as he looked toward the daughter and son-in-law of his victim, Stephen Horton, and sought their forgiveness. "I would like to ask you to forgive me," he said. "I made a mistake and I am sorry for what I did. All I can do is ask you to forgive me." Kunkle then turned his head toward an adjacent window in the death house and expressed love to witnesses he selected to watch him die, including his mother and his wife. "I love you and I will see all of you in heaven," he said. "I love you very much. Praise Jesus."

I can relate.

If I had to listen to Creed for longer than 10 seconds I'd end up killing people.

Good riddance, scumbag! Rot in hell, murderer!

He died after saying the Lord's Prayer. If he was honest in his repentence, then he's got a chance of not going to Hell, right?

That's a big "if", and one that only God can answer. I'm not qualified, in any way, shape of form.

Then let's let God decide if he rots in Hell or not, shall we?

What about any of his innocent victims, who didn't have the chance to repent, before be brutally murderered them? I hope you're wrong, and that he's in the Lake of Sulfur, for eternity.

God is merciful .. that's something us humans bent on an eye for an eye will never understand.

But if the guy repented, He is in Heaven. Jesus forgave the thief that was on the Cross with Him.

Deal with worldy vengance, if you must, but you should leave the eternal vengance department up to God.

Thievery and murder are two wholly-different crimes. All murderers and child rapists-molesters should be punished to the max, until eternity.

..."eye for an eye" is from the Bible's Old Testament, IIRC.

In fairness, I'm sure there is a killer somewhere quoting Rush Limbaugh.

But God doesn't differentiate between sins. He does, however, give everyone a chance to repent and come to salvation regardless of their past. God is merciful. It's His call .. not ours.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 (KJV)

>>..."eye for an eye" is from the Bible's Old Testament, IIRC. <<

The point? I was just using it as an analogy of how humans often want justice. God plainly said vengeance is His .. He will repay. Romans 13:19: "Avenge not yourselves. . . . I will repay, saith the Lord." The guy did get the death penalty .. maybe that's part of God's vengeance or then again it's part of God's way that "the wages of sin is death." (spiritual, physical, emotional .. in other words, there are consequences to sin. Yet still God, in His mercy, will accept Him if He repented unto salvation.

correction:

>>will accept Him if He repented unto salvation <<

"him" rather than "Him"

"he" rather than "He"

(must be a case of brain fog on this otherwise sunny day) ; >

Perhaps several.
Kunkle was a nutcase, good riddance.

Actually, Limbaugh and Metallica might have several points in common.
Metallica ROCKS.

Don't Tread On Me
Hetfield / Ulrich

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
never begins it, never, but once engaged...
never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

love it or leave it, she with the deadly bite
quick is the blue tongue, forked as lighting strike
shining with brightness, always on surveillance
the eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more

Wishing for someone to be damned is a very great sin.
