ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- When two men walked into a popular country store outside Atlanta, announced a holdup and fired a shot, owners Bobby and Gloria Doster never hesitated. The pair pulled out their own pistols and opened fire.
The armed suspect and his partner were killed. The Dosters won't be charged, according to local officials, because they were acting in self-defense.
"I just started shooting," said Gloria Doster, 56. "I was trying to blow his brains out is what I was trying to do."

Who says armed self defense doesn't work.
It's infinately better to have the hard-working Dosters alive than the robbers. Justice triumphed - for once.
But I then considered....In a JUST Fight of good vs bad, the bad guy should lose. Our System of Justice provides the proper conclusion of a Just Fight.

I love these kinds of stories, Good shooting and always remember when you start shooting empty the gun. Wounded criminals can kill you.

It's been a horrible news morning. A co-worker and new FReeper is sweating out the wait for news on the chopper crash earlier. Her son is in the unit involved.
This bit of news is a breath of fresh air. Bet anyone else contemplating such foolishness will give another thought before trying to rob a store in the area. Frankly, that's all we can hope for. If they will think about it just a bit, maybe their two brain cells will kick in and make them wonder, "These folks might shoot me if I try to rob them."

ESPECIALLY on the anti-gun CNN. I think this may be a harbinger of a change in our media climate. I think perhaps they are having to move to the right to try to recapture audiences lost to Fox and the Internet.
Perhaps, too, they have just started to come to their senses on the utter failures of liberal gun-control and liberal crime control.

Amen and amen. If one TRULY is opposed to capital punishment, then they would have to be against killing someone who was trying to rape and murder their wife, daughter, etc. I say this because if killing another person is wrong regardless of circumstances, then it would be wrong even in the case of self defense or defense of another person. Now, of course, you won't find many anti-death penalty people to agree with that, but they are simply inconsistent, which points out how ridiculous their position is to begin with; otherwise, their position is "well, it's ok to kill someone to prevent them from committing an act of murder, but it's not ok to kill them if they are successful". I mean, HUH? LOL
