I agree that there should be a more aggressive response. I think it's the theory of giving the Dems enough rope to hang themselves, but there's no reason that Bush's nominees should be put through such pointless torture letting the Dems get to that point.

Their performance with Condoleeza Rice was a disgrace to the United States of America.

It would have been for the democrats to let Dr. Rice sail on through. But, thank the Lord, there aren't too many wise democrats. It is embarrassingly obvious to everyone that Boxer & Company's objections to Dr. Rice are manufactured for The Cause. No sane person is buying what they are selling, but it is oddly fascinating to watch them chew on their own harden bile of a sales pitch.

"Condoleeezza Rice not only deserves the support, but the country needs a strong, wise secretary of state with a bipartisan mandate to help establish democracy not only in Iraq but around the world," Young said at a press conference on Tuesday."

Not to mention that it will be further education in a possible presidential bid.

Condoleeza Rice may well be the next Margaret Thatcher of U.S. politics.

Here's to the good Doctor!

Evidently the congressional black caucus, who bowed at the feet of slick willie and his secretary of state, Mad Maddie the Cleaning Lady, think it's perfect okay to insult and berate Dr. Rice for all the world to see.

Can you imagine the tears that would roll from Boxer's wicked eyes if Condi becomes US President in 2008! There would be a Suicide Watch for the California Senator Streetwalker.

Senator Warner made an excellent speech yesterday.

His tone was calm, saddened, and pointed out the absolute hypocrisy of those suggesting Dr. Rice was untruthful.

He was truly the conscience of the Senate in every sense of the word.

Young also suggested that the nation is not well served by having Democrats chip away at Dr. Rice's integrity just as she is about to take her place on the world stage.

Hey there Mr. Young, where the hell ya been all these years! What, this is the first time you've noticed something like this in American politics? Go see an "eye doctor."

And, ya think!

Better late than never I suppose...

And heck, if you happen to read this Mr. Young, perhaps you can point out for us all of the black conservatives that that the NAACP and the Dims have supported through all of these years! I mean for the NAACP it's all about supporting black ("colored") people without political bias, right! Good luck...

In his statement, Peterson noted that "Sen. Robert Byrd is a former Ku Klux Klan recruiter who has recently used the word 'nigger" twice on national television. Byrd helped filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and also opposed the nominations of both black candidates for the Supreme Court -- liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas."

How can anyone read that and not find it chilling? The only thing that I'd prefer in that excerpt is that he had one more time mentioned that Bryd is a DEMOCRAT....and a LEADING Democrat.

I can imagine after four years of Dr. Rice as president, there will be an aligning of the races such as no one has ever dreamed.

After eight years of a Condi presidency, I can imagine no Democrat Party.

"Liberals believe that blacks should all think and vote the same," he said. "And they loathe any free-thinking black who dares to walk off their plantation."

So true. But this is what Democrats have done throughout the war in Iraq, so is anyone surprised?

Actually, I think the Democrats are grandstanding and vying for the best clip to help their own careers. They saw how the major media took Boxer's attack on Rice, replaying it constantly (to the dismay of other questioners), so they are competing for that same attention.

Why don't the media replay what Warner said, again and again?

I agree with those above who say that anyone with a brain can see how low the Democrats have sunk. Unfortunately, much of the electorate is programmed by the MSM and don't think critically as much as they should. Thus we do need strong Republican spokemen to denounce the cruel games of the Democrats. Republicans have played the gentleman's role for too long. Time to be quick-witted as well as polite, cutting through the Democratic games and lies.

Rev Peterson should realize that the original KKK Byrd was mean to his colored. But the new DDD Byrd tries to take good care of his colored.... as long as they stay on the plantation.

But when they stray from the plantation, then teaching them a lesson is for their own good. Maybe Rev Peterson has been off the plantation too long to appreciate how well the new Democrats treat their co-inhabitants of the plantaton and care for their proper education.

The Democratic Party---the party of:
Thomas Jefferson (a slaveholder who impregnated his slaves)
Andrew Jackson (A bigamist and a murderer)
the trail of tears (racism towards Indians)
the Confederacy and war between the states
the Klu Klux Klan (KKK)and "Dixiecrats"
the income tax & Federal Reserve System (Jekyl Island)
WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars
the "war on poverty' that has wasted trillions of dollars, so far...and I could go on for days....

"Republicans have done little to counter this attack"

Let's be honest. The Republicans KNOW that Dr. Rice will be confirmed and they do not want to squander hard earned political capital needlessly. Republicans will challenge Democrats where and when they need to, and will themselves CHOOSE their battles with the Left over the next few years. Republicans will not sit like jelly fish and instantaneously react to all and every continual and groundless Democratic challenge. Republicans will not place themselves on the defensive into perpetuity. That's just what the Left would like to do. How naieve can the guy be? AND, where were these guys when Justice Thomas took a beating for no good reason?

Peterson has long argued that liberal Democrats are racist toward blacks: "Liberals believe that blacks should all think and vote the same," he said. "And they loathe any free-thinking black who dares to walk off their plantation."

I am, and have been for quite a while, that this is the tack that conservatives should take, if they want to win the black vote, or more importantly save black society from total destruction. At every chance, we should equate the way the Dems treat the blacks to the old slave system. Additionally, every time they send the attack dogs, like Jackson, Sharpton and Lee out, we should point out that they are nothing more than house negros for the Democrat party.

It's using blunt force, and not very eloquent. It is the truth, though. We are going on almost 4 generations of blacks that have been raised looking to the Dems for hand outs. The black family has been destroyed, replaced with the nanny state. What is it, almost 70% of black children are born out of wedlock. Blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crime in urban areas. Black youths hold drug dealers and thugs as role models, elevating then to pop star status. All of these things spill over into other areas of society, causing problems across the board. It's high time that conservatives fix the problem that the Dem plantation system as created.

I think it's best to be a bit quite, the Democrats are doing just a fine job of showing who they are and what they represent. Moreover, the bottom line is she will be confirmed.

Dr. RIce WILL be confirmed....on her merits.
Anything the Republicans say will be twisted by the MSM to make them look like the bad guys....
Let the Democrats keep talking....It'll make great quotes/video for up coming elections.

when are Republicans going to speak up and defend her against these vicious attacks?

I've seen plenty of Pubbies do just that. But I have a feeling they don't want to do too much and get in the way of the racist Dems destroying their party.

For my money, the more important issue here is the mainstream media's walking in lockstep with the dems; if the MSM were TRULY objective and doing their job, these racist dems would NEVER have the guts to say what they're saying about Ms. Rice because they would fear being taken to task by the media. As it is, the media just piles on. Also, see the NY Times editorial on Gonzales today.

Shameful, hateful and outrageous.

Bill Frist has no backbone, he should be removed from Majority Leader

Baloney. Some folks, no matter what the topic, seek to blame the GOP for everything.

Republicans have done little to counter this attack," he said.
And if the Republicans run true ti form, they will do littler to counter or respond to these personal attacks.

Dr. Rice is going to have to learn how to defend herself.

By use of the term,"mean spirited", the Democrats and main stream media have neurted [deballed] the Republican Party.
