BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) A U.S. Marine helicopter crashed Wednesday in western Iraq, the U.S. military said. There was no immediate word on casualties.
The helicopter went down near the town Rutbah around 1:20 a.m. while conducting security operations, the military said in a statement. The aircraft was transporting personnel from the 1st Marine Division.
A search and rescue team has reached the site and an investigation into what caused the crash is underway, the military said.
Prayers
Prayers on the way.
The only other info I could get was on Fox News and they said that the helicopter was hauling Marines from the 1st MarDiv. while they were conducting security operations.
Well, if it's crashed, I'd presume the helicopter is beyond "breaking" and probably "broken".
Okay, okay,.... prayers being sent.
Prayers now.
LOL! I understand what you mean TT.
And I for one can appreciate the bit of levity.
Thanks my fellow Texan.
Nuts.
PRAYERS UP!
SEMPER FIDELIS BROTHERS!
GODSPEED!
Prayers
Though my hearts go out to these people, i think this is the exact reason why people think things are going bad in iraq. Every from a death to a blown tire on a hum-V is reported as breaking news. Do we really need to know this? I say throw out the MSM until they give equal cover to the good thats going on in Iraq.
I can't argue with that. Lord knows there were a couple I seriously considered tossing last year myself.
Prayers.
I don't know , but 31 MEU use CH-53 in western Iraq .
My husband is with the 31st MEU. I just got a call saying 28 dead, but no names yet.
Oh my...
My heart goes out to you.
It's 6 p.m. here in Okinawa; my kids are eating dinner, I've got cookies in the oven, and a lump in my chest. My face is burning. I sent an e-mail to him saying I just need two words: "I'm safe." I pray to hear them from him in a few hours. He usually calls after our 2-year-old and 3-month-old go to bed. The 3-month-old he's never met.
I'm on my knees praying!
Praying hard
Oh thank God, thanks everyone for the prayers. I just got a message from him; he's safe. Now I breathe deeply and pray for everyone else I know.
