WASHINGTON Just a few weeks into the new congressional session, many are beginning to wonder aloud: "What's up with Barbara Boxer?"
The first week of the session, the California Democrat led the Senate challenge over certifying the Ohio presidential vote, citing irregularities.
In the end, she stood alone against certification, with 74 of her colleagues including Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and 33 other Democrats favoring the count.
Last week, Boxer was all over Condoleezza Rice at her confirmation hearing to be President Bush's new secretary of state. Boxer all but called Rice a liar over her statements leading up to the war in Iraq as Bush's national security adviser.
howlin,
you rule.
Oh please. You prefer Democratic Senators?
Boxer puts the worst possible face on the Democrat party.
In order to make Hillary look good. You want Hillary to look good?
Rice should have read Boxer's own statements made during the Clinton Administration about the threat of Saddam and listed Saddam's proven connections with al Quaeda. Instead she just sputtered about integrity.
It didn't look good.
I'm not one of her constituents but I emailed her too. I didn't get a reply.....well, I have Spam guard so it deleted it before it dirtied up my inbox!
I'm thinking Balco. Roids. See it all the time at the gym. 65 yr old grandmas start juicing, it gets ugly.
he only made two visits to Texas during the campaign - both on a friday before a long weekend...don't take his travel as a sign.
Yeah, hopefully they will. Washington is such a lovely State. You guy's deserve a lot better than commrade Christine. Hang In.
Boxer shorts during her 15 minutes of fame act.
Freeper Common Tator, the link being to his page (Ray Malone). Worth a "poster search" when you have time as his comments are learned and interesting...
too bad...
I remembered last night, when I was not near a computer, that Dennis Prager said he had "thought" about running for the Senate seat last year. I would have been willing to give him a chance.
The California Republican Party is currently building its base on Ah-nolt supporters and ignoring the rest of us.
I think you may be on to something there. Keeping a really whacked-out "flyer" on the left of the far-left might help shift public perception of the "median" line.
"The smackdown" -- A TKO.......... From the opening bell, Boxer was out-manned by the professional Rice. With little time left Rice caught Boxer off balance with a right to the jaw that briefly knocked her down, Rice: "I really hope you will refrain from impugning my integrity."
The victor, left the trembling, bloodied, embarrassed Boxer in her corner as the loser spit her mangled mouthpiece into the water bucket.
Hair disheveled, lip and eyes swollen, this Boxer was done...........and her cornermen knew it. Boxer's wild and careless punches continually missed the calm and precise Ms. Rice.
A TKO alright!
