U.S. Border Patrol agents on Monday morning arrested 74 suspected illegal immigrants, all Mexican citizens, at a drop house near 1st Street and Avenue C just outside Yuma city limits.
Joe Brigman, spokesman for the Border Patrol's Yuma sector, said agents were alerted to the two-story house after receiving an anonymous call from a concerned citizen who reported suspicious activity at the residence.
The Monday morning incident marks the third time this month federal agents have shut down houses in Yuma County used for harboring smuggled aliens.
The arrests also represent the largest number of Border Patrol arrests to date in a single incident. Federal agents arrested 44 illegal immigrants at a Yuma house on Jan. 10 and arrested 43 illegal immigrants at a residence on Jan. 7, bringing the total number of illegal aliens arrested in the three busts to 161.
Like the other two drop houses, "the interior of this house was in deplorable condition," Brigman said, adding the illegal immigrants appeared to be in good physical condition.
Among the illegal immigrants arrested were several women with young children, according to a news release from the Border Patrol.
No weapons or drugs were found, no vehicles were seized and agents were still processing the illegal immigrants as of Monday afternoon.
Border Patrol agents are continuing their investigation into the property owners.
No charges have been filed in any of the three drop house arrests.
Then why the hell are you even bothering? Seems like a waste of time if you're just going to let everyone go...with a ticket.
Clown House Ping...
No charges? Can't they just also run an INS Bus? Take an old Greyhound, and when you do the raid, load it up and drive it south. Dump 'em off in TJ.
Following the standard logic of illegal alien apologists, I assume that the children are coming here to do jobs that American children won't do.

They're processing the illegals, and will deport them. They didn't arrest anyone in connection with owning the drop houses.
161 illegals will be heading back to Mexico. You have to read closely, or you'll get the wrong idea.
It's a start, why is AZ the only state doing these type things? I live in the reddest of red states the Presidents state he calls home, and Perry wont get the illegals that live across the way from my home.
Perhaps some thought should be given to allowing the seizure of the property used for the crime, just as the feds can confiscate boats and vehicles used in the trafficing of narcotics.
"161 illegals will be heading back to Mexico. You have to read closely, or you'll get the wrong idea."
They'll just cross again tomorrow - and are about 98% likely not to get caught the next time.
They'll be back the next day. Collect a shipload and dump 'em at Tierra del Feugo; it's a longer walk.
That's a better plan.
Clown Houses, I heard that for the 1st time yesterday, absolutely cracked me up.
This is right down the street from where I used to live.
This is the 3rd drop house busted in the last 2 months here in Yuma.
There is a federal judge in Houston doing everything she can to hinder or prevent the prosecution of the people who killed a truckload of illegals. The judge, who is black, is upset that the truck driver who is also black is the only one facing a death penalty trial. We wouldn't want a "brother" to suffer for killin' a bunch o' wetbacks, now, would we.
It's only a matter of time...Mrs. HJ had the distinct pleasure of helping convict a drop house owner last Fall. Chances are good they're developing a case against the owners before charges are filed.
What I want to know is why aren't there two buses headed south for 74 ENFORCED deportations?
Guess the new mission of the Border Patrol is to provide transportation to the illegal's city of choice instead of "rounding em up". Next, it will likely be to deliver "comfort kits" to these folks.
maybe the houses are rentals, with absentee owners?
And once the achievement ratings go thru for teachers, they'll be the ones responsible for sh!tcanning a lot of good teachers.
