The problems is that they started taking themselves too seriously. Part of the fun used to be that they would puncture the grandeur of the Oscars. Now they have some of the same self-importance.

I love this quote. It's good to be reminded of it. It's so apt concerning the "liberals". Hysterical noise makers of no substance or grasp of reality.

A friend of mine is a screenwriter/actor in Hollywood and a veteran of the armed forces. He said that there are many more Republicans in Hollywood than people would think.

Note the macho actors who vote Republican- Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, "The Rock," etc.

Note who the outspoken liberals are- Michael Moore, Martin Sheehan, Sean Penn, Rosie O'Donnell.

I'll take Clint and the good guys!

No Hollywood here. The Razzies are given out by an Artesia, CA based group that has become famous because they make fun of Hollywood.

And yet, in this case...

Moore isn't really a Hollywood figure. He's an outsider who they've used as an amusement.

Yeah, Michael Moore won an Oscar for non-fiction with a fictional piece of work. His award winning speech about his anti-war stance was the most unclassy moment in Academy Award ceremony history. All this while troops were giving their lives on the battlefield to defend his freedom of speech.

I think he embarrassed the Academy badly. F9/11 didn't get a single Nomination and that was certainly one of the reasons. As for embarrasing Academy moments how about Vanessa Redgrave's 1978 speech about 'Zionist Hoodlums'. One of the great moments came right after that...writer and outspoken Israel supporter Paddy Chaefsky said "I would like to assure Miss Redgrave that her winning an Oscar is not a pivotal event in world history and a simple 'Thank You' would have sufficed."

..... just after Moore made a fool out of himself and the screen industry, Steve Martin come on and stated "the IRS is now helping Michael Moore into the trunk of his car." (lol) That was a classic.
