Tehran, Jan 24 - Iran's Intelligence Minister Ali Younesi described American commandos as 'chicks' as they were alledged to have been carrying out covert reconnaissance operations inside the Islamic Republic.
"We are eagerly looking for the Americans commandos to come to Iran since they are chicks which would rapidly be picked up by our eagles," he said at a news conference here.
The claims were first made in the New Yorker magazine this month by the investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, alleging that US operatives were choosing targets inside Iran for future air strikes.
Younesi roundly brushed off the report, saying, "The Americans are stupid, but not so much to make the same mistake which they made in Tabas."
The Intelligence Minister was referring to the doomed secret mission, dubbed as operation Eagle Claw, to rescue US hostages arrested during the early days of the Islamic Revolution.
In the abortive operation on the night of April 24-25, 1980, a number of C-130 transport airplanes rendezvoused with nine helicopters in a great salt desert of eastern Iran near Tabas. Two helicopters broke down in a sandstorm and a third one was damaged on landing. The mission was aborted but as the aircraft tookoff again one helicopter clipped AC-130 and crashed, killing eight US servicemen and injuring more than four.
Touching on reports about flight of unidentified aircraft in Iranian airspace, Younesi said, "The flight of these planes are part of the espionage which they (the Americans) carry out; this is nothing new."
Asked what was Iran's reaction, he said, "I am excused from commenting on our reaction, but every action has a reaction."
Younesi said Tehran 'has fortunately defused all espionage operations of the American and Israeli services', especially on the country's nuclear program.
"All the nuclear spies have been identified and caught," he said.
Younesi did not identify those arrested, but stated that members of the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO), dubbed in Iran as Munafeqin (or hypocrites) for their massive terror acts inside the country despite their kindly appearance, have passed the bulk of secrets about Iran's nuclear program to the country's enemies.
The minister stressed his ministry's capabilities in uncovering espionage against the Islamic Republic.
I'm sure they're every bit as fearsome as any Arab army.
Gotta love islamist trash talk, it's pathetic.
Note to Younesi: Carter ain't President anymore.
They are not Arab
'has fortunately defused all espionage operations of the American and Israeli services'
This would be a perfect time to blow up the reactors-they couldn't blame us or the Israelis.
"Asked what was Iran's reaction, he said, 'I am excused from commenting on our reaction, but every action has a reaction.' "
Which is farsi for: "We are sucking our thumbs and crying ourselves to sleep hoping burly commandos don't come for us in the night".
Our commandos, "chicks"?
The guy who said this might just turn up having been in a car wreck... with a half-empty bottle of Canadian Club in the car.
The problem of Muslims that they have never known their real strength nor the strenght of the enemies, and that why 4 millions Israeli crushed 200 millions Muslim in four wars.
Iran did not learn a lesson from our incredible victory in Iraq where we took out Saddam in three weeks. If the Iranian regime want to face the wrath of the mightiest military in history of mankind then let it be, they will not even live to regret it.

You know, our Eagles have a couple weeks off now. We can just send them. They could smash Iran, and still get back in time to lose to New England . . . |

No, but they can "relate"...
I'm almost sure he has no idea how this sounds in idiomatic English.
Their Mullahs are Arab invaders but the nation is Iranian which is different than Arabs
The thing that disturbs me about this story is someone leaked this info to the New Yorker magazine. We need to find this person and hold him accoutable. These CIA leaks have got to stop!!!
Bagdad Bob is now working for Iran?
Islamic Republic?
Isn't that an oxymoron?
Does this guys kind of sound like Baghdad Bob?
Iranians Blustering again.
Daring us to come get some.
I think we should oblige them in doing so.
Actually, I suspect that we're already there getting what info we need to conduct whatever actions necessary to neutralize their Nuclear capability........
LOL.
