WASHINGTON Lawrence Summers, the president of Harvard University, has been pilloried for suggesting that women may be biologically unsuited to succeed at mathematics. He may have a point. Just look at Condoleezza Rice.
She's clearly a well-educated, intelligent woman, versed in Brahms and the Bolsheviks, who has just been rewarded for her loyalty with the most plum assignment in the second Bush cabinet. Yet her math skills are woefully inadequate.
She can't do simple equations. She doesn't even know that X times zero equals zero. If you multiply 1,370 dead soldiers times zero weapons of mass destruction, that equals zero achievement for Rice, who helped the president and vice president bamboozle America into war.

At the risk of sounding crass, Mo would not make a good pimple on Condi's rear.
Oh yeah, the pictures....It kinda' gave me an added incentive to rip MD.
Well stated, as usual, Henry. Unfortunately, facts don't seem to matter to the Democrats.
I wish every single time someone like Boxer tells her viscious lies that the Republicans would hold a press conference, during prime time, to set the people straight.
That would require a couple of thousand Press Conferences. Personally, I wish Boxer would keep talking until she's the last Dem left in the Senate.
Denny Crane: "I look to two things: First to God and then to Fox News."
Thats all I've done for awhile. I can't understand her at all. It's all blather that fumbles around seeming to try, but never quite, making a point
Ann Coulter is far more clever....purtier too
THE FIRST IMMUTABLE LAW OF DOWD: The first and most important rule is what might be termed the People magazine principle: All political phenomena can be reduced to caricatures of the personalities involved. Any reference to policy concerns or even to old-fashioned politicking is, like, so passé. And, of course, with every caricature goes a nickname.
THE SECOND IMMUTABLE LAW OF DOWD: It's easier to whine than to take a stand or offer solutions.
THE THIRD IMMUTABLE LAW OF DOWD: It is better to be cute than coherent.
"...if you kill one jihadist, two more arrive to take his place; if you kill three, five more pop up; if you get five, eight more appear, and so on."
This was given a name over the weekend.....MOONBAT MATH
Moe is a dog and a dry hole, Ms Jones is a nuclear weapon.
Anthropologists studying great apes discovered that females would pair up with the better and more attentive providers but on the sly would mate with the bigger, better specimens that wrere the Alpha Males. Making for better offspring because of better genes. Humans are pretty much wired the same way. In my younger wilder days I preffered married women and their husbands were always considered good catches. Educated, hard working "nice" guys who were usually lacking in the all elusive cool and macho factors. Something a motorcycle riding, katana weilding, long hair wearing, weight lifting, scarred, former US Army Ranger like myself had a wealth of.
NAG-HAG!
And the New York Times pays Dowd for this kind of sh*t?
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
You know... maybe it's time for Xander Cage to pull one of his stunts off the Brooklyn Bridge with Maureen's car.
MoDo is everything I never want to be. Poor girl.
Are you kidding!?
Such a method has a much larger chance of coming up with something that makes sense!

"I can't help but wonder if there's anything at all about triangles that Maureen didn't learn from Catherine Zeta Jones. What an under-handed cheap shot. She not only questions Rice's qualifications (not at all untoward if Maureen had an intellectual graveman from whence to do so), but she also accuses Condi of sleeping her way to the top. Something Maureen would have done herself, but when it came down to it, a younger leading lady stole her part."
Gosh, Mike, I was expecting this catty Dowd column two years ago. Condi is everything that Dowd never will be: supremely intelligent, powerful in her own right, not dependent on a man for validation, and beautiful. That Dowd chooses to take a political disagreement and turn it into personal spite speaks volumes about MoDo, not Rice.
The last thing that Condi would ever do after being dumped by Michael Douglas would get lost in the bourbon. This is about a strong woman vs. a weak woman. That's all.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
