Asia's Political Fault Lines...
asian times ^ | Jan 24th 2004 | Yu Bin

One is the emerging "fault-lines" between maritime (Japan, US, and Taiwan) and continental powers (China, Russia, and possibly India and the two Koreas). The year 2004 witnessed large-scale military exercises by both Russia and the United States. Russia's "Security-2004" exercise in February was the largest drill since 1982 and the US' "Summer Pulse-2004" between June and August involved 150,000 troops, 600 warplanes, and more than 50 warships, including seven of a total 12 aircraft carriers. While the Washington-Tokyo-Taipei axis, formal or informal, is hardening, the Beijing-Moscow-New Delhi connection remains at the level of brainstorming. Nonetheless, Russians and Chinese are getting ready to stage their largest-ever joint military exercises in 2005 in China's Manchuria bordering Korea, possibly involving Russia's long-range strategic bombers and nuclear submarines.

I found it funny a bit especially that paragraph... Russia and India joining China to help it reclaim Taiwan.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ya right after China took parts of Kashmir from India and made Russia give isles on the amur river because it was dumping garbage to extend its border...

They hand out PHD's as a reward for agreeing with lunatic lefty professors these days.
Our education system is full of "professors" who have multiple PHD's, but have never experienced life outside of the classroom. They just moved from the desk at the back of the classroom to the big one at the front.

A housewife who raised a family for the better part of her life has more qualifications than these 'but I got a phd' "professors".

I just cannot see the guys logic its so absurd. He expects Russia and India to aid China militarily in getting Taiwan back... That seems beyond comprehension to me. The guy is purely insane in my book. Thats the jest of the article basicly.

I'm not so sure...
India has always been an ally of Russia. We're perceived as colonials over there. China has played its hand very carefully and quietly, exploiting every little fissure resulting from the war on terror. It shouldn't be surprising if we find they've been sucking up to India as we've courted Pakistan.
Of course this is the Asia Times... but it is a nightmare scenario.

While the Washington-Tokyo-Taipei axis

Only a loony leftist would call the US-Japan-Taiwan Alliance an Axis. As any leftist would, the author of the article clearly roots for America's defeat.
