HONG KONG, Jan 24 (Reuters) - A large earthquake hit Sulawesi, Indonesia, early on Monday, the Hong Kong Observatory said. The quake, measured at 6.1 on the Richter scale at 4.15 a.m. (2015 GMT) in Hong Kong, was centred about 40 km (25 miles) south-southwest of Palu, the observatory reported.
It gave no further information.
The quake comes less than a month after the magnitude 9.0 Dec. 26 quake in the west of Indonesia that generated a tsunami, killing as many as 234,000 people around the Indian Ocean rim.
Full moon set off the Tsunami quake 28 days ago.

Some people think it's tin foil. Don't know why, when you consider gravitational forces and lunar tides. Tidal bulges are known to cause earthquakes with a magnitude of less than 0.
While I don't attribute every earthquake to a full moon, I definitely think there is a relationship going on there. I've been keeping an eye on it since the California earthquake of '89 (?) when I noticed the full moon was so very bright.
In recent geological time, Krakatoa was quite an event.
My reference to the TOBA volcano in #35 while a very old(75,000 years ago) eruption, many that dabble in this sort of thing believe Toba made life all but extinct on the planet. Some estimates, using mitochondrial DNA etc, have the human population at roughly the same time as only a few thousand hardy souls. There are a number of these "supervolcanos" around the planet. If any one of 'em were to blow, fugitaboutit.

Gosh, I didn't realize that the US and Israel had tested another atomic bomb. [sarcasm alert!]

The former QPR, Manchester City and Fulham striker is understood to have said: "Beckham would never move to Newcastle because of the all the trouble caused by the Toon Army in Asia."
"What's the over and under for how long it takes the first Islamic cleric to claim this is a work of God?"
Interesting. Since you pointed this out about their attitude (Insh'allah: it is God's Will) then I wonder if they attribute the US victory in Iraq to the will of God?
6.1 really is not that big of a deal.
