Sure they would. But... I'm not a liberal; are you?
Of course there is. Always has been - always will be... and the feminazis can't do anything to change it.
No, I'm not.
But I DO have a problem with the double standard that the libs foist upon us.
Every do often the libs need a taste, however unpleasant, of their own medicine.
Hear, hear.
Like I don't have anything better to do than spend my life complaining about tasteless comic strips. I don't think it's funny. It's stupid. So what? Now, the episode of Dick Van Dyke was funny. Ralph telling Alice "to the moon" was funny. I don't see what the big deal is.
I understand that your life experiences may lead you to find such a joke disturbing or offensive, but the prejudices of a single individual cannot be the standard by which humor is judged for the entire society.
What I'm saying is that the bounds of acceptable humor are much broader one way than the other.
Is that a double standard? Yep. Which raises the question, why do we simply assume that double standards are always bad?
Agreed, it IS hypocritcal, but don't make too much out of it.
I would never hit a woman - unprovoked. My Dad taught me to NEVER hit a female, UNLESS she "put herself in a man's shoes and hits you first".
That's my policy, anybody that uses physical violence against me will have it returned; man or woman.
Teach THAT to your sons, men.
Well, they're about to get their chance. For the first time in DECADES, there is a commercial on TV which shows "the woman" in a bad light! Has anyone else noticed how commercials always have the guy be a doofus or a boorish lout who doesn't "get it" -- while the woman (or the child) is calm and competent?
Well, on today's Eagles' game, Budweiser played a commercial (probably test-running it one-time prior to the Super Bowl); here's how the commercial goes:
An NFL official is on the field with a coach berating him up one side and down the other, while he, the official, stands there and takes it, stoically. The narrator queries, "Ever wonder how these officials are able to take so much abuse so calmly?"
The scene the cuts away, as if in answer to the query, to the same official, in civvies, at home, at the kitchen table, with his battleaxe wife just using him verbally, screaming in a voice not unlike Hilary's shrill shriek.
The point of the commercial seems to be that the man will later relax with a Budweiser.
Did anyone else see it? There is no way the NOW naggers will let THAT one lay. I laughed my A off.
Yeah, and Desparate Dan ate cow pies, and Popeye beat the crap out of Pluto..
...GET A GRIP on reality for crying out loud!
Don't you mean Bluto? It's not nice to beat up a dog. It is O.K. to beat up a thug.
Thanks for your responses to my comments guys.

Ouch! That's going to leave a mark. Heh heh heh...
Popeye spoke so badly, with that pipe in his mouth, it was hard to know what he was saying at times. *L*
Having to eat spinach all the time would make me want to beat the cr@p out of somebody too!
So9
And Olive would have every reason to elbow Popeye...after all she'd the one having to live with the spinach farts!
It IS a double standard. and, I for one am TIRED of it.
Scott, you say, "it's only a cartoon". Well, a few years ago, Beetle bailey, or one of the soldiers in the comic strip(I think) got into trouble for LOOKING at a woman, in a suggestive way, on a CARTOON. Did everyone just laugh it off? HA!! The feminists had a field day,and the next strip showed the private having to take "sensitivity lessons". for this.
SO, you think it is ok, if , for example, on Ally mcbeal, for example, a group of women can ogle, and gawk at Bon Jovi, when he bends over, BUT, a year or two earlier, a MAN is FORCED into sensitivity training, for just NOTICING A woman as she walks by. BUT, it all just tv, eh?
If it were all just "tv", or "comics", no one would care. BUT, it is NOT. It is the NEW way men are EXPECTED to act, that is, to TOTALLY accept, a woman's unwanted advances, touches(up to, and including grabbing a man's crotch), and doing NOTHING, BUT, if a MAN so mauch as says to a woman"you look nice today", it is HARASSMENT/STALKING CHARGE time, and if a 14 year old GIRL pulls down the pants of a boy in school, FUNNY, and OK, BUT, if a GUY did it, ATTEMPTED RAPE CHARGE!!(7th, heaven, BTW) It was even in my college ethics book, from a couple of years ago, that MEN should be held to a HIGHER standard than WOMEN. Is this right? No, I do not think it is.
You are thinking right how the feminazis want you to, Scott. To them ,you are a "good man".
BTW-- It used to be, "one call, out on the street, NOW, it's one call, IN PRISON.(no, I do NOT have first-hand experience at this. I have not been married, and with the attitude of today's women, of" "we want all of the priviliges, and NONE of the responsibilities", I probably NEVER will be.)
To sum up things, -- the comic strip, and the modern attitudes in general-- IT IS ALL PART OF THE BIG PLAN.
Saw it. Laughed. Mrs. Lurkin also laughed.
The moral of the story is don't forget her birthday. And yes it is a double standard but we have to deal with it.
