Biden Says He Is Leaning Against Gonzales Confirmation

WASHINGTON - Sen. Joseph Biden, a senior Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, said Sunday he was leaning against confirmation of Alberto Gonzales, President Bush's choice to be the next attorney general.

Bush's choice of his White House counsel to be the nation's top lawman, "may very well do us more harm internationally because of its relationship with the terror memos," the senator from Delaware said on the ABC News program "This Week."

"My inclination right now is to vote against him," Biden said. He is the third ranking Democrat on the panel.

Last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee postponed a vote on Gonzales' nomination after Democrats charged he had evaded their questions about Bush administration policies on the treatment of prisoners captured during U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been criticized for his role in shaping those policies.

"Where did Gonzales say he opposes gun ownership in that article? He opposes assault weapons, which is not the same thing, as you know."

Lol...Not the same thing? This one is a classic, even for you. You must be the King of the gun-grabbing freeperINO's.

Where did Gonzales say he opposes gun ownership in that article? He opposes assault weapons, which is not the same thing, as you know.

I see you have absolutely no intention of dealing honestly with the issue. Once again, you are deliberately twisting words and changing the argument - for what purpose?

The article clearly stated that Gonzales "supported extending the expired federal assault weapons ban.". You are lying when you misrepresent it by saying "assault weapons" as in small caliber automatic weapons, when you know full well that Gonzales was refering to the ban which included ugly semi-automatics rifles and shotguns, magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds, and other items included under the misnamed legislation.

I agree with you - I do not like Gonzales. Not only for his gun stand, but for his association with La Raza. I don't see anything good coming from his serving as Attorney General. And, I am a Conservative before being a Republican - the Republicans seem to have forgotten their conservative roots lately. In my opinion.

MIDI - RAG DOLL

Doll-oll-oll-oll hair…it is as silly as can be
Joe's doll-oll-oll-oll hair…I laugh when he is on TV

Joe Biden had his doctor put plugs in his head
He should have superglued a critter that was dead

Now he has…doll hair…now he has…doll hair
It's a bad transplant…worse than James Traficant

Doll-oll-oll-oll hair…it is as silly as can be

Joe lost his hair about the time he lost his mind
This liberal puke can kiss my rosy red behind

Now he has…doll hair…now he has…doll hair
It's a bad transplant…worse than James Traficant

Doll-oll-oll-oll hair…it is as silly as can be
Joe's doll-oll-oll-oll hair…I laugh when he is on TV

Hey, Joe, will you put on a hat...we're laughing so hysterically

Hey, Joe, come on, put on a hat…my ribs are hurting, can't you see?

Agreed.

Some GOPers would rather those facts be hushed up, tho'.

OK, how about withdrawing Gonzales, and nominating Roy Moore of Alabama?
Just what we need: an AG whose disobeyed a court order.

Hey look: if someone like Janet Reno can end up as AG, that means that ANYBODY can be AG. Reno is the no-standard standard now.

Got to be some old kkk clips of byrd early on somewhere someone could drag out.

No, I want some Private Eye to look into Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Schummer, Hillary, etc. and find out which fraternaties/soritities they belonged to and if there were any racial blackballing of members while they were there. I want someone to look into the golf clubs these folks and their spouses belong to and list what their racial policies were. I want someone to looking into the property that these folks own and see if there were any clauses in the titles that prohibited the sale to people of color. I want someone to dig for dirt and then repay these Dem's for all that their political party has done in the past when race was not involved, but they made it seem that way.

So, exactly when did Alberto Gonzales say he opposes gun ownership?

I don't know about you non-gun owners, but if someone supports the AWB, they oppose gun ownership.

The old plagerist is trying to turn the Gonzales nomination into a bargining chip. He will eventually agree to support him in exchange for some yet to be named quid pro quo. I hope his hair plugs get infected!

I saw this camera hound saying this today and, aside from my seeing his performance as being yet another attempt to grab some air time, I had the reaction 'So What'.

I tend to agree, but would like to see some "in your face" outrage by Republicans if this mug hungry twerp even thinks about following through on this threat. There are several dem senators that rate a "10" on my puke scale and Biden is at the top.
