Al-Zarqawi Said to Declare 'Fierce War'

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A speaker purporting to be Iraq's most feared terror leader declared a "fierce war" on democracy and said in an audiotape posted Sunday on the Web that the Americans were using next weekend's Iraqi elections to install the Shiites in power.

"We have declared a fierce war on this evil principle of democracy and those who follow this wrong ideology," said the speaker, who identified himself as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, head of the al-Qaida affiliate in Iraq. "Anyone who tries to help set up this system is part of it."

The speaker said candidates running in the Jan. 30 elections are "demi-idols" and those who vote for them "are infidels." U.S. and Iraqi officials fear insurgent attacks and have announced massive security measures to protect voters.

"You have to be careful of the enemy's plan to implement so-called democracy in your country," he added. He said the Americans have engineered the election "to make Shiites dominate the regime in Iraq. Four million Shiites were brought from Iran to take part in the elections to achieve their aim of winning" most of the positions.

Iraqis are scheduled to elect a 275-member National Assembly and provincial councils in the 18 Iraqi provinces. The new assembly will draft a permanent constitution to establish a system of power among Iraq's disparate religious and ethnic groups.

Sunni Arab insurgents have been launching attacks to try to subvert the election, fearing the loss of power to the Shiite majority. Many Sunni Arabs are expected to stay away from the polls. Shiite Muslims, who are the majority of Iraq's 26 million people, are expected to turn out in large numbers and win most of the assembly seats.

The authenticity of the tape could not be determined but the voice appeared to be that of al-Zarqawi. It was the second voice tape posted on Islamic Web sites this week purporting to be al-Zarqawi, responsible for numerous car-bombings and beheadings foreign and Iraqi hostages over the past months.

The easiest thing to do here is pick a city close to the Syrian border and turn it into a parking lot.

Oh, Gee. I guess I should REALLY be scared now. Hey, who's hiding in some crappy hole, sweating it out nightly hoping that some Grunt doesn't find him & turn him into fertilizer?

This guy is just a pissantwalking around w/ TP on his head.

Hmmm...maybe all of those depressed and angry demos should move to Iraq instead of Canada. At least that way we'd kill 2 birds w/ one stone.

Well, this is a good development. The figurative mask comes off. This guy joins some "illustrious" company in history, those who have underestimated the power of Democracy and the human products of that type of political system.

Hitler. Tojo. Communists. Democrats.

This type of statement by the terrorist scum shows clearly the choices to be made, and makes it easier to choose sides.

Ok, lets see now. I can choose to be part of a society where I can have a say in the management of my affairs and have the ability to realize my potential personally and fianancially, or I can belong to a society where I am told what to do, and if I deviate, cowardly scumholes with rags on their face will show up to saw my head off with dull knives.

If you ask me, is sounds like a Darwin's Choice to me.

Democracy is an evil principle when not government is not limited by the concept of individual sovereignty.

As James Madison explained in The Federalist Papers (Number X),

"a well-constructed Union" must, above all else, "break and control the violence of faction," especially "the superior force of an . . . overbearing majority."

This is an especially difficult problem in a theocracy.

I'm surprised he couldn't get a spot on ABC this morning. You know Georgie could use the ratings.

Then again, maybe al-Z wanted a bigger audience.

Technically, they "lost power" when the US invaded. The US is handing that power back to the people. If we merely wanted to install a power, we would have appointed someone king.

If Zarcoward wants to come out from behind his mama's veils and lead his "army", our guys will be happy to meet him in battle.

Love to see the enemy get frantically worried. And the Olde Media thinks it's because they're strong. Fact is, they get weaker by the day.

Exactly! Everyday one of these clowns sticks his chickenshi+ head out of a hole somewhere with a tape recording off a 40 year old reel to reel and starts talking about how "the shi+ is really going to start hitting the fan now." Later that day somebody blows up a Dairy Queen and the ragheads start up with the allah akbar noise!

allah FUBAR!

"We have declared a fierce war on this evil principle of democracy and those who follow this wrong ideology."

The American Leftists couldn't have said it better.

"the Americans were using next weekend's Iraqi elections to install the Shiites in power."

They ought to be using it to install the Christians in power.

After the way the sunni's in Iraq have treated the Shia and Kurdish population I guess democratic elections with a Shia majority would make Senor Pscyho crap his little terrorist underoos.

Of course -- I guess the libs aren't pushing the oil thing since it's counter-productive now that the current price is so high.

Actually Iraq and all muslim countrys have operated under MOB RULE for centurys, its the muslim way.. Democracy is MOB Rule.. Many forms of Mob Rule is still MOb Rule.. It just depends which Mob or compendium of Mobs rule.. England, Canada and URP all operate under MoB Rule also.. And American democrats and part of the republican party are busy makeing the United States a democracy too.. Mob Rule sucks and so does democracy in EVERY FORM..

The American Constitution lays out a Republican form of government as an answer to MOB RULE.. Pity it all has been lost.. Makeing any muslim country a democracy is just same old same old to them, the muslims.. Looks the REAL WAR is in the United STates.. The republican party is no help.. most of them already THINK the United States "IS" a democracy ALREADY.. like Spectre and McLaim, Hillary and many of the Supremes.. and sad to say President Bush too..

The real WAR is in Washington D.C... the democrats know that, the republicans are too autistic to know anything it seems..

Screed Notes...
Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin

The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx

We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.~Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

The difference between a US Democratic Republic and a Democracy is that the US has a Constitution which gives rights and freedon of speech to those citizens who have lost power.
