The Thing was ugly but ran.
The Volare had carpet that didn't cover the floorboard and it rattled new off the lot.
(I was forced to get one as a company car for a short trainee period.)
Dodge daytona. Looked good but new fangled "brain box" would overheat and casue engine to cut out. Would only start when circuits were cooled down. Not good thing if you were driving on the dan Ryan n Chicago. Replaced clutch at 23 K. Dip**** dealer told me it ws driver abuse, even though drove manuals for long time.
Never again have i even looked at a Chrysler
Yeah, company cars. I had to drive a Matador for that same reason.
The Chevrolet Corsica remains one of the most hideous creations by man.
I had a Jeep CJ-7. That *&%*%& thing drove me insane. Soon after I got it the rear axles stripped out. I had the dealership fix it. A few months later they stripped out again. I made the dealership fix it. The next time it happened I decided to do it myself due to the horrendous cost. So I did. Then they stripped out again. I just locked in the front hubs and sold it as is.
Had one. First new car I ever bought in 1980. Sky blue and manual transmission. Drove it for six years. Hated every minute of it, but it was basic transportation and the price was right for a couple of newlyweds.
With a projected reliability rating that is 181% lower than that of the average car, Ford's Lincoln Navigator sport utility vehicle is the least reliable car on the market, according to Consumer Reports.
Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand how something could be more than 100% less reliable than something else.
Gremlins had the same donut gasket glitch.
I poke fun at it but the Gremlin's odometer read 225,000 miles before it [the odometer] quit working a year before I got rid of it.
We traded it in on a VW Rabbit and the dealer took the Gremlin to a junkyard in WV.
In less than 2 weeks, my mom saw my Gremlin zipping down I-81 with a young guy behind the wheel.
For all I know, that Gremlin is still on the road, somewhere.
The cool thing was that its parts were interchangeable with the AMC Hornet.
An ex-boyfriend wrecked mine and we replaced the whole front end with a Hornet front end.
It was ugly as home-made sin but sturdy....:)
In the mid-90s I got nostalgic and picked up a cheap AMC Spirit.
It was bascially a 4WD *longer* Gremlin.
I kinda liked it and it was great for hauling my dogs around in....LOL!
Volvos.... Box cars driven primarily by left wing trash!
I would *love* to have a Thing but they're very expensive now.
A local guy used to fix up Javelins and AMXs as street rods.
They looked great and sounded awesome.
I doubt he left much stock parts in them, though.
Yeah, they probably needed a lot of outside help, but I could see where one of them loaded up could be fun. I knew a guy who had a gull-wing, propane Bradley kit car. Talk about getting funny looks from other drivers!! The thing was so flimsy, when a bird flew into the hood, the hood was smashed but the bird was only slightly dazed.
I have to disagree with that. The Element has actually sold quite well and once you get over its somewhat unusual shape you appreciate its amazing amount of interior space.
Had a '65 Cuda with a 383. Nice car.
Pontiac Aztec, takes the booby prize. It is damn ugly. Makes Aztec a bad word.
True in the past but today's Volvo model lineup is much more sporty and have much better interiors, too.
