EL PASO, TX. - Mineral oil - it kills the flesh, it damages kidneys. That's Thursday's testimony in day three in the trial of Delores Agripino. Three more accusers, a chemist and a doctor testified during court on Thrusday.
Agripino is accused of injecting mineral oil into 25 women. She allegedly told them it was collagen. Three more women testified they received injections from Agripino and her alleged accomplice, a transvestite who calls himself "Penelope."
Elsa Almanza testified she paid Agripino $300 to have her face injected. For her, the side effects are easy to spot, her face is disfigured. A second accuser, Teresa Vasquez says she paid Agripino $400 to have her breasts injected.
Vasquez went on to say the mineral oil caused her to have both her breasts removed, because it rotted her flesh. Tissue from her stomach was used to reconstruct her breasts. The women's claims are consistent with the Doctor's testimony also heard earlier Thursday.
The doctor says once injected, the mineral oil invades the entire body. Many times, the mineral oil will return to the place it was originally injected. It will puddle and kill off any surrounding flesh or tissue. It can also cause marks, severe discoloration and permanently damage the kidneys.
But the testimony from a woman named Leticia Rincon spoke of another consequence: divorce. She says she, too, had to had her breasts removed and has undergone 10 surgeries. Her testimony was slow and halting, because she would break down and cry.
Many times she would choke back tears, especially after she was shown a picture of herself just after her breasts were removed. She took a long time to compose herself when asked why she was testifying. Rincon sobbed quietly, wiped away her tears and whispered one word - "justice."
The trial continues Friday morning.
Doing a little checking on the business and learning if they are highly recommended would have put a little bit of research to good use.
The transvestite calling himself Penelope should have been a tip-off that this wasn't a real medical practice. It's kind of sad though that such a number were disfigured so badly.
So much "baby oil" and "moisturizer" preparations are made with this crap. And it's really bad ON the skin. But injecting it INSIDE? Wow, that's a new one on me!
MINERAL OIL -- What is it? Nothing more than FILTERED 10-WEIGHT MOTOR OIL, it's the most commonly-used base for skin care and cosmetics.* A heavy hydrocarbon derived from petroleum, it cannot be absorbed by the body. Said to "seal" the skin (as if that were a benefit!), it's actually "comedogenic" (it clogs pores, attracts dirt, and causes blackheads and eruptions). It constipates the skin's elimination process, hinders its healing, and hastens its aging. It hardens the outer keratin layer and repels water, making exfoliation difficult and real moisturization impossible. It may also choke sebum gland production, causing an ever-worsening dry skin condition in some areas. This sets up the vicious cycle where the user thinks more and more greasy oils are needed. Motor oil belongs in cars, not skin.
*The manufacturers pay 67¢ a quart for this and have you pay as much as $540.00 a quart ! .
So would being comfortable with your natural aging...I'm an a ole granny - got 15 g'kids now. When I look in the mirror I see someone who LOOKS like an ole granny - ie., myself. I admit, I wouldn't mind a few less wrinkles, but I have never had any desire to have any 'improvements' - injections, nips, tucks, etc.
Heck, I'm enjoying the benefits of being an old lady - I can say anything now and get away with it. No one wants to argue with an old lady :O)
Olive oil is excellent for the skin...or, I still make what my granny used: rosewater & glycerin. rose water is excellent for the skin and glycerin (the vegetable glycerin) will attract moisture to the skin.
My wrinkling has started, I'm in my thirties. And I will NEVER have plastic surgery. I don't think it is a safe thing to do. And I have an extreme aversion to pain.
I'll learn to love my wrinkles and accept it, as have you.
I agree absolutely. I feel sorry for transvestites, but I don't trust them. They're pretty much all crazy in a big way, even moreso than psychologists. Wouldn't you be if you hated your own johnson?
